The Professors had locked off the Great Hall right after lunch, the only people allowed in were the social committee. The girls spent the better part of the day missing classes and setting up for the ball.

Some tables were set up around the walls.

It didn't take long for everything to be in order. The girls spent the last few moments putting the touches on the food and drinks.

About an hour before the ball was to start the girls were finally done. It was a beautiful sight with ghosts everywhere, there was a stage where the two most popular bands were going to be playing. It was by far one of the more elegant balls in the past few years.

When the doors opened to allow the students in a low growl was heard before the first band took the stag in an uproar.

Once the place was crowded an announcement was made.... "Morning classes will be canceled tomorrow!"

Mandy was actually very excited for the ball, and extremely NERVOUS! What if Tristan changed his mind and didn't want to come with her at all? What if he actually didn't like her, though he had said... What if he got sick and something terrible happened to him!

No no, he would come and Mandy wouldn't pout about it. Well... she had enough to pout about, trying to tug down the skirt of her Fairy costume. Alice had made it longer for her, but Mandy was still a little self conscious... and she blushed as people walked by looking for her. She had her hair all up and curled, and even got some flowers from the Greenhouses to put in them. It would be a great mess to clean later, but she thought it was cute!

Mandy reached back to tug and fix her wing a bit too, before looking over to the stairs again and frowned looking for Tristan.

Tristan stood looking into the mirror. He of course got ready all by himself. Unlike a girl, he didn't need a reassurance that he looked good. He play with the collar of the prince charming/knight costume. He knew that he was keeping Mandy. She was probably waiting for him. So he finally left, tucking his wand in the inside of his jacket pocket.

He slowly walked down the stairs, upon seeing Mandy. His heart stopped. He gawked at Mandy, because she looked absolutely stunning. He greeted with a single red rose, and grabbed her hand, kissing it on top lightly. He looked into her eyes, and smiled, "You look absolutely beautiful."

When she saw Tristan, Mandy grinned brightly since she was so glad to see him. And so handsome in his knight costume! She still couldn't believe Tristan asked her, and the way he stared at her... oh it made her feel so giddy.

Mandy gasped in surprise at the rose, but smiled and blushed. "You're so sweet," she said taking the rose in one hand, and blushed an even deeper red when he kissed her hand and called her beautiful. She wanted to tell him to stop... but she loved that he did tell her that.

"Thank you Tristan, you look so handsome. I really like your knight costume," she said hoping he wouldn't let go of her hand.

He had never been so stunned as he sat his eyes upon Mandy this night. She looked more radiant, more beautiful than he had ever seen her before. He would surely the luckiest boy in that Ballroom tonight.

"Thank you. I do try." He grinned, he wanted her to have a good time tonight. He was actually trying harder than he ever was. Mandy wasn't going to be some girl he was fooling around with, she was different. He hasn't quite figured how different, but she was.

"Thank you, Mandy. And really, it's not a problem." And he hopes came true, he still held her hand, and he lead her into the great hall.

It would have been impossible for Mandy not to have a good time! Even if this wasn't a 'date' date, Tristan was still one of her dearest friends... one that she liked very very much. She would just be blushing like mad, that was all.

She wanted to keep her rose safe, but she couldn't exactly carry it around with her... and the fairy costume didn't exactly allow pockets, so Mandy tucked it up in her hair with the other flowers, close to her ear.

Mandy stayed close while he lead her into the Great Hall. She only had some simple ballerina shoes on with her costume, and with her luck she's probably slip and make a fool of herself. "Wow, they did a really good job on decorating!" she said, getting a chance to look at it now. She had been worried and nervous waiting for Tristan before.
