MOST WANTED CHARACTERS

The Evil Queen, Ozma, Captain Hook, Robin Hood, and Many More!

For as long as anyone can remember, the City has always been one of the largest metropolitan centers in the world. It has had its share of glory and decline, but none so great as the age following the founding of OzCorp. Michael Ozma was no man of magic, but he might as well have been, for the technological wonders he wrought.

Today, however, the Gilded Age is long past. OzCorp, now led by Ozma's three daughters, has become corrupt, and the City has fallen from its glory days. Crime and drugs now rule the streets, though some aristocrats continue to live above it all.

Inspired by folk-lore and fairy-tales, Not So Far Away is a unique Role-Playing World that brings characters from fairytale, folklore, and mythology from around the world together into an ever-expanding universe.

Premise

The time is 5 years after the defeat of Lord Voldemort. The year is 2003.

Six weeks ago, certain known followers of Voldemort broke into the Ministry of Magic and attempted to use the Veil in the Department of Mysteries to bring their fallen Dark Lord back to life. Amycus Carrow, after years of searching the Forbidden Forest, finally found the Resurrection Stone. After trying dozens of unsuccessful ways to resurrect the dead, he figured if he tossed it into the mysterious Veil, the ones that wandered beyond it would benefit from it's power and once again be alive and able to regain their lives in the Wizarding World. Little did he know, it would bring the elimination of 99.9% of people in the entire world.

When he tossed the stone into the Veil, nothing seemed to happen at first, but then, within a few minutes, a yellow fog emanated from the curtain. It was sparse at first, but grew thick and heavy in no time. As soon as the fog touched him, he vanished, as well as the people who were with him. They tried to run from it, but it was growing at such an alarming rate, it was unavoidable.

The fog grew bigger and moved faster as each second passed, and soon it took out the entire inhabitants of London, of England, The United Kingdom, Europe, America, Africa, everywhere. Both Muggles and the Wizarding folk were included in the now disappeared. Then, as quickly as the fog started, it began retreating, and within twelve hours from when it all started, it was gone, just like every living, breathing person in the world. Everyone was gone. Everyone, except for the fifty eight survivors. Animals were not affected by this virus.

As luck would have it, every witch or wizard who was apparating to or from London, at the exact time the viral fog was released, were not harmed. They were suspended in oblivion, or time, for the duration of the incident, and then, like nothing happened, arrived at their destination, unknowing of anything that had just occurred. They had no clue any time had lapsed. All of the buildings stood where they were, everything was in it's exact place, there were just no people around. It didn't take long for the survivors to figure out something catastrophic had happened.

Among the survivors was one Arthur Weasley, who will now be appointed Minister Of Magic. After he figured out something was terribly wrong when he arrived at the Ministry and was alone there, and searched the streets, his home in Ottery St. Catchpole and everywhere else he could think of. He then returned to the Ministry and used an advanced version of the Sonorus spell to make his voice loud enough for all survivors to hear, asking them all to send an owl with parchment, letting the Ministry know who was still out there and then to Immediately apparate to Hogwarts and stay there. He received 50 responses by owl and was happy to find out there were 7 others in the Ministry with him; Alecto Carrow, Aberforth Dumbledore, Rabastan Lestrange, Narcissa Malfoy, Mr. Ollivander, Rita Skeeter and Sybill Trelawney. These 8 make up the new Ministry of Magic, and will be making the rules for the surviving witches and wizards. The survivors are going to have to work on repopulating their world so they don't die out. They are going to be given two months to find themselves a suitable pairing and if one is not selected by the end of the time period, a mate will be chosen for them. They absolutely cannot leave Hogwarts. They are quarantined until further notice.

Musings

Musings has always existed, a world alongside our world.

In Musings, people live the way we do, eat the same food we do, love the same way we do, and work the same minimum wage jobs we do. The differences? They all have their roots in fictional characters, and they are immortal.

Though they are not the characters themselves, they carry in them the essences of characters from fiction. The sources that they spring from do not exist for them, but they are based on fiction we are familiar with all the same - though no one has ever read a Batman comic, there is a rich young man who uses his money to fight the forces of evil that destroyed his life. Though Moby Dick was never written, a sailor still stalks the bars of a town on the sea, watching, waiting.

Now, a portal has opened between the world of Musings and the mortal world, and the Creations (as they call themselves) have begun crossing over in droves. Now, they have abilities that they did not have in their own world, abilities that they can choose to do with what they will. There is no great prescribed fate for these echoes of fiction, only the destinies they choose to weave for themselves - living and losing on the shores of a new world.

Most Wanted: Literary Characters, Villains and Superheroes. Dean Winchester, Ophelia, Nite Owl II, Dracula and more wanted storylines here.

A Marvel-centric AU RPG.

The 1970s gave rise to many socio-cultural revolutions: the environmental movement , feminism, egalitarianism, communalism, the sexual revolution, pop psychiatry and self-help. But none of these were so radical or publicly criticized as the mutant revolution. Born with genetic alterations that gave them abilities beyond those of normal humans, the people known as Mutants are hated and feared.

Amid fear, prejudice and violence on both sides, the mutant revolution quickly grew to become a national crisis. The government dealt with this threat by creating Mutant Town, a small ghetto in New York City to house these people. Humans living in the nearby areas terrorize the mutants and a special police unit known as The Sentinels keeps them inside, while turning a blind eye to the atrocities committed in the name of homo sapien.

Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr, two mutants who in another time and place would be great leaders, decided that their home and brethren need to be protected. And so the two formed the gang known as The Brotherhood of Mutants; the costumes and codenames that in another world would signify them as heroes representing their unity as a gang. The Brotherhood began to protect the streets of Mutant Town from outsiders, troublemakers, and the racist, skinhead gang The Friends of Humanity, whether it's through fights, extortion, patrolling their turf or setting a few examples.

Even as the mutants deal with the Friends of Humanity and their ilk, tension begins to brew under the surface. Should the gang include humans in their ranks, as Mutant Town houses a sizable human population? For that matter should Mutant Town be for mutants only? Differences among the gang members, and its leaders, begin to divide the mutants that were once united. Can Charles, aka "X", and Erik, aka "Magneto", find common ground for the Brotherhood of Mutants?

They could run New York City. These are the gangs of NYX.
