Maybe this was a mistake. I'm Lucy Maraschino and I'm definitely wanting a bottle of whisky second guessing coming here.

Go on a tour, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

Tell that to the lady who lost her shit in the market screaming about warning someone before foaming at the mouth and choking on her own tongue. 10/10 do not recommend.

Let's lighten the mood and play a game. I'll start. Two truths and a lie.
1. This hotel's staff is incompetent.
2. This hotel's staff doesn't actually care about its guests or how they're treated.
3. I'm 8'0, bright purple, and when I sneeze it sounds like a xylophone.

Okay, guys, guess the lie.

Since when is breakfast not served until 10am? If we're supposed to be 'on vacation', doesn't the entitle us to actually sleeping?

By the way, whoever's screaming in the middle of the night, do us all a favor and keep it down. We're on hallowed ground, after all, since this wretched place killed thirty people.

Good morning, Grand Paradise! I'm Avery Emerson, and I'll be your go-to girl for all of your diving excursions here at the hotel. I am a certified Scuba Diver with specialization in night diving, advanced open water diving, and diving instruction. I'm looking so forward to meeting all of you current and future adventurers!

To that end, I will be leading Part 1 of our Intro to Diving course today at the pool from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. This class is primarily for beginners and those who are not currently certified to dive. We will cover diving principles, safety standards, and the basic hand signals that divers use to communicate while underwater. We will also familiarize you with the use and purpose of your diving equipment.

While diving is a very inclusive activity, please know that there are some requirements you must meet in order to dive with us. All participants must be at least 12 years old and submit a completed medical questionnaire. If you suffer from, or have previously suffered from, any serious medical condition (including, but not limited to, asthma, epilepsy, heart problems, and use of certain prescription medications) you must provide a signed medical release from a doctor prior to diving.

If you would like to sign up for the class today, please respond with your name so that I can make sure we have enough space and gear to go around. Hope to see you there!!!

Babe, you know how good I am at putting on a strong front for everyone else so that they can draw on that and have something to hold onto, but I think the twin of that dead girl woke Delia up and there is just the tiniest part of my inner child that is freaking out a little. I could use a few of your words of wisdom.

GOOOOD MOOOORNING ISLANDERS!!! Who is ready for some more fun, fun, FUN today?! I am and I know you are! Hamnet Island is filled with opportunities for adventure and discovery. If you’ve been here before, you know just how many things there are to do! Today, I’m offering an introductory tour for new island arrivals that will give you a taste of the potential physical thrills just outside the hotel doors!

That’s right! It’s the ISLAND ADVENTURE TOUR.

Experience the wilds of the jungle on our way to explore some ancient ruins built by settlers and pirates long ago! Hike among the exotic wildlife that calls our island home. Witness the beauty of our mysterious grotto. In just three hours, I’ll show you the best places to rock climb, the best beach to search for buried treasures, the best hiking trails, the sea caves and so much more!!

Tour Overview
  • The Ruins - A half hour hike through the jungle from Paradise Beach, the ruins stand as a reminder of the people that came before.
  • Shipwreck Cove - Near the Grotto and the Windfall Cliffs, this beach is the true paradise for anyone who enjoys physical activities. There are even rumors that some pirate treasure might be buried here!
  • Windfall Cliffs - We won’t have time to climb the cliffs, but this tour is an excellent starting point for anyone interested in hiking to the top for a scenic view of our island or rock climbers!
  • Sea Caves - A natural wonder with an emphasis in wonder. If we’re lucky, you may even get to see some of the strange bioluminescent fish and creatures that light up the caves like stars.
  • The Grotto - The most mysterious and beautiful place on the island. Learn about the fascinating purple flowers that grow on the walls.
  • The Ocean - Interested in scuba diving or other water activities? During the boat part of the tour, I’ll show you the best spots around the island. We may even see some DOLPHINS.
The tour will begin with a hike through the jungle. Be sure to wear your good walking shoes! I’d Once we get back to the beach, we’ll take a boat to Shipwreck Cove and the sea caves. Since the tour will be covering a lot of our local adventure spots and we only have three hours, we will be spending a short amount of time at each location. The tour is meant to be an overview so that you can assess your favorite spots and where you want to explore in greater depth during your stay. It’s also an opportunity to have any questions answered by me, your Hamnet island guide!

You are welcome to join the tour by meeting me in the lobby at 12:45. However, if you know you’re coming and let me know now, I would appreciate it. It will help me know how many snacks to bring! ;]

If you feel less up for an adventure or are concerned about the physical challenge of a short hike and a boat ride, my favorite aunt, Poppy, is also offering an excellent tour! I cannot even imagine how many countless hours of effort she’s put into it to make a tour of a gift shop and the destroyed Museum as fun and interesting as that can be! Such an inspiration. If you’re not going on my tour, you won’t want to miss it! :D

Ahoy, honorary islanders! For those of you I did not get a chance to meet yesterday, my name is Poppy Gladwin, and I'll be your Head Vacation Guide during your stay here at the Grand Paradise Hotel!

In order to orient you with our beautiful surroundings, our guides have put together a couple of introductory tours to showcase all of the wonderful sights and activities Hamnet Island has to offer! Today, I will be whisking you away to experience our paradise like a true local.

Come along and immerse yourself in the rich culture of our island neighbors, sample authentic fare prepared in the same traditions that have been passed on for generations, and explore some of the vistas that have long been considered the absolute best by those who call the island their home!

Tour Overview
  • Serenity Bay - Dubbed Le Sanctuaire by the locals, this tranquil beach has long been rated the most beautiful by the natives of Hamnet Island.
  • The Mangrove Forest - Our famous mangrove forests serve as nurseries to many species of fish, which contributes to the island's robust aquaculture. Idyllic in their beauty, many locals claim the waters in these areas possess healing properties.
  • The Museum of Oddities - Although this site has been closed since 2016, the area still contains a wealth of island history.
  • The Merchants' Courtyard - Get to know some of our most creative and expressive locals as you browse their wares and savor the authentic flavors of our island cuisine. If you want to find that perfect memento to take a little piece of the island home with you, this is the destination for you!
  • The Ferry Docks & The Boathouse - Meet the Boatman and get the 411 on all of your watercraft rentals, so that you can explore our shores like a true islander!
  • The Curio Shack - Upon returning to the hotel, we will make a final stop at the Curio Shack, where you can view and purchase replicas of the original expedition artifacts housed in the Museum of Oddities, as well as other souvenirs.
This tour is open to all, but please drop us an RSVP in the comments so that we may get an accurate headcount. Our group will be meeting in the hotel lobby and departing at 1:00 p.m.

I am so excited to be spending this time with you and having the opportunity to show you the very best of our island!!!

For guests who can't wait to check out some of the more physically challenging activities on the island, please contact Harmony Gladwin. She has been working so diligently to plan her Island Adventure boat tour. It's sure to send you racing back to the hotel as soon as you can—to grab your gear and get moving!

Hello island, one of your friendly housekeeping ladies here. As a true millennial with weak DNA (a peanut allergy) I feel like it's my duty to make sure that no one has a chocolate allergy. If you do I think we have some jolly rancher we can trade for the usual turn down service. But we gotta know about it in order to give you some jolly.

I also highly recommend the pool.

Hi Dad! It's getting late and I didn't want you to worry, but I didn't want to call in case you or Mom were sleeping. I'm fine. Everything's nice. Nothing much has changed since I called after I landed.

The hotel has grouped thirty of us together. The kids I'm with aren't all academic prize winners. There's a group of frat boys and some girl is here with a whole entourage for her birthday. It's so not my scene, but I figured you'd get a kick out of that.

The weirdest thing happened after I got settled into my room earlier. I unpacked all my stuff and then went down for lunch and decided to go on an island tour with our group leader, Cassidy. When we got back and I went to the room, all of my stuff had been repacked and my luggage was sitting by the door.

I'm sure it was an innocent prank courtesy of my roommate, or an innocent mistake by Housekeeping, but it is somewhat unnerving to think about some stranger touching all of my things. Other than that, things really have been fine.

I miss you all. Tell Mom I love her. ❤

Hey. I would have called, but it's so early and I didn't know if you'd be sleeping. If you could sleep. I didn't. But I'm at the airport rn. My flight to Boston is supposed to leave in about 2 hours. From there, Wes and I will make our way to the "grand paradise"....

Today sucks so hard. I wish I'd planned better and asked if you wanted to fly with us. Or I could have asked Wes if he'd fly here and then...yeah. I'm sorry. I haven't really been on top of my game lately.

Hit me back. When you get this. Or if I'm already in the air, just let me know how you're doing. We're supposed to arrive at EIS around 10AM and then catch the ferry to the island. Anyway. Just wanted to check on you.
