INCIDENT DESCRIPTION: Several guests (names redacted) reported hearing a scream the night of 04/07/19, estimated at around 11:45 p.m. near the stairwell on the first floor. Veronica Clermont (Room 705W) was seen fleeing down the west hall of floor 7. She knocked on 715W before returning to 705W. Adam Clermont, family, entered 705W shortly after. The incident was not reported to security that night. Security learned of the incident from a network post posted by Leilani Blake (707W).
INVESTIGATION REPORT:
Officer Maven Mahoney reported for duty on the scene at approximately 7:00 a.m. He demonstrated a cool head and a readiness to face any danger therein with a confident knock to let the guests know right away that they were in the strong and capable hands of a security expert and had no reason to fear what any longer.
Adam and Veronica Clermont were present for the questioning. Mahoney's keen deductive skills quickly deduced with a 60% certainty that Adam Clermont had spent the night. Was the scream the result of a tragedy-induced night terror? Mahoney made a mental note to find out.
With how agitated both guests seemed, Mahoney could only shudder to guess at their emotional state before the security team's prompt arrival. Despite their luxury accommodations, if Mahoney wasn't standing in a grand suite, he wouldn't have known that the two of them had spent the night sleeping on clouds that angels would think were too soft.
Notepad always ready, Mahoney wasted no time collecting Veronica's statement (enclosed). The victim reported seeing a woman in a costume. The woman grabbed the victim, asking "HOW ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?" The victim claims to have started hallucinating at that point. Veronica Clermont stated there was a gap in her memory and she doesn't remember the woman leaving.
When the astute officer inquired about the costume, Ms. Clermont described it as "flapper or something." She definitely remembered the woman wearing a dress but could not recall the color. The victim also claimed that the woman was smoking. NOTE: The fire alarm never went off that night.
Based on the hallucination and memory gap, both the victim and her father suspect that Veronica Clermont was drugged. The victim's waterbottle was left unattended and could have been tampered with. Officer Mahoney asked for the waterbottle and descriptions and names of other guests (Volunteers welcome) who had been at the gym that night.
