appreciate, yo!

Okay, so. Due to being home sick all day, I spent all day at the computer and worked to get stuff updated. The Cast Details pages now have actual pictures for everyone, instead of placeholders on some of the more recent ones.

And.

Nearly everybody's IDs & badges are done! I can't believe how freaking far behind I was on those, but now there's only a handful that aren't done, and that's due to a lack of information. I've e-mailed or IMed everyone I need info from, so if your character is missing an ID or a badge and I haven't e-mailed you, just comment to that post with your info and I'll get one made quickly. :)

h'okai so

I've added to the Auror / Hitwizard Shifts gdoc and the Healer / Mediwizard Shifts gdoc. There's a couple more notes on both of them, which will hopefully make some questions a bit more clear. As always, if you have any questions, you need just ask and we'll figure something out! :D Because here at Brookstanton Memorial Library Find The Horcruxes, If We Don't Know The Answer, We Know Where To Find It We'll Make Shit Up.

Tonight's Quidditch matches and the attacks!

Caerphilly Catapults v. Holyhead Harpies
Montrose Magpies v. Puddlemere United

Approximately forty-five minutes into the matches (about 7:45pm), team members Wilda Griffiths of the Harpies and Kirsty Douglass of the Magpies will begin to act oddly, turning on team-mates Effie McKinnon and Nora Alderton mid-match. Not long after, it'll be clear that vampires have infiltrated the pitch - along with several cloaked and masked figures. The vampires will be causing mass mayhem among the crowd.

So, were your characters there? How did they react?

ETA: Enough DMLE show up to wrangle the situation. Vampires and DEs flee?

new various information!

Hey guys! I just updated the various information page with a new (or, rather, updated) link.

The link about travel under the Legislation heading (2nd one down under Wizarding World) has been updated from linking to the quick OOC note about international travel to the long-promised google doc about travel.

Everything except the last paragraph (the one that starts with "Beginning 15 January, 1980") is how travel (domestic and international both) has always been in the wizarding world. Or at least since before the start of the game.

So! Read it over, and of course feel free to ask if you have any questions. :)

(Oh, and I also stuck a link in there to the ID cards post.)

quick note!

Alright guys! A bit of an OOC note, concerning the "body on display" bit for tomorrow morning.

After the events of the log, Rab and Dylan left. They came back around 4 am and took his body to Diagon Alley, where (under cover of night) they put Guy's body on display for everyone to see. They levitated him and used really strong charms to hang him over the Prophet's entrance. The DMLE would have an exceedingly difficult time getting him down. So he'll still be up there when the Alley starts filling up with people who are going about their normal Monday morning. Permanently stuck to the wall next to the door is a note that says "See what happens when you defy us?"

If you didn't want to read the log, here's a list of his injuries, so you can kind of picture what your characters would've seen. DO NOT click the cut if you don't want to know. Claire, I've included a list of the different blades used, as well, for further helping for Stella. All injuries are listed in the order he got them.

Guy's injuries. )

oops?

With all the stuff going up yesterday, the press release slipped my mind. It's up now, though, so media people can assume that it was sent to their place of media-ness yesterday.

It would have been mentioned on the wireless yesterday and there would have been a brief article about it in the Prophet today -- though of course, it wouldn't be as Front Page News as the article on last night's werewolf attack, which also just went up.

You can pretty much assume that the information from the press release will be discussed on all wireless stations for the next while. There might be discussions about what prompted this decision (the official reason that would have been given to any media outlet that asked: just that with everyone now having official IDs, this is something that is now possible that should have been implemented long ago).

For those who forgot about it, the information on international travel is located here, though it'll eventually be made into a pretty gdoc. Citizens going through magicustoms are already subject to their luggage or whatever being searched, to ensure they aren't bringing anything illegal into or out of the country. That part won't change, this is just to ensure that, like the press release said, more accurate records are taken.

FYI - about the WWN Year in Review programme

As mentioned in Sloane's entry, the WWN Year in Review programme is broadcasted today, Thursday, December 31st. As the name says, it's a review of the year's news events. Every major events of the war (and others as well) will be covered. In the segment about the Halloween Masquerade, Voldemort's speech will be aired again. The segment about both Orion and Cygnus Black's deaths will be understated, keeping to the facts and not making any extrapolations. Mention will also be made of the memorial fund that Regulus set up, in the segment honouring the fallen Aurors (including John Dawlish and all the others). The whole programme is done in a tone as neutral and unbiased as possible, staying away from sensationalism.

panic at the ministry?

Around lunchtime today, a body fell out of one of the floo entrances to the Ministry's atrium. It was the body of David Whitaker, who you may recall was under suspicion for the break-in at the registry and who made an appearance in last night's narrative courtesy of Wolfie.

Hogsmeade residents might have noticed a group of five or so "mean and hobo-ish" people with some heavy luggage breaking into the empty Hale house. EDIT: To be more clear: this also happened around lunchtime; the "mean and hobo-ish" people are the werewolves who were just breaking into the Hale house to get access to a floo to send their Christmas present to the Ministry. They would've been gone before authorities could be called in.

break-in at the werewolf registry!

Alright guys! This afternoon around 2:30 pm, it all of a sudden started raining and such on the entire fourth level of the Ministry of Magic offices. Level 4 is the Department for the Regulation & Control of Magical Creatures. After all the employees evacuated the floor, Magical Maintenance was called in to come up and fix it.

Of course, the six magical maintenance workers who went to level 4 to repair the damage weren't actually magical maintenance workers ... they were DEs under polyjuice. Led by Lucius, Barty Jr, Evan, Olivia, Persephone, and Severus stunned a half dozen workers (or, rather, Lucky imperiused one worker to stun the others, then stunned him), stole their hair, turned into them, then broke into the werewolf registry. A bunch of files were stolen (including Greyback's pack and a bunch of others related to stuff on the calendar for later this month) and a bunch more were destroyed to prevent an obvious pattern from being noticed. Then they cancelled out the raining jinxes that Marcus and Dylan set up and skedaddled.

In all, it shouldn't have been more than fifteen - twenty minutes between when the employees evacuated the floor and when the raining stopped. Of course, the DEs are leaving it up to the real magical maintenance workers to clean up the mess ...

RE: Quidditch!

The Department of Magical Games and Sports is announcing that in light of last night's attack, all professional Quidditch matches have been CANCELLED. The next two weeks, the department will be doing massive renovations to the pitches (Yorkshire Moors, Ilkley Moor, Ellis Moor, Exmoor, and Bodmin Moor) to allow the security charms to be upgraded and tested.

Attention Old Wizarding Families

We need your help for plot! If you have an old wizarding family, please list us some locations important to them in the following format:

Family: Macdougal
Location: Caer Dubh, AKA The Black Castle
Description: Built in the 15th century as payment for some sadistic vampires made dead, the castle is located on the Firth of Lorne, near the town of Oban. It is visible only as a pile of rubble to anyone approaching without an invitation from the castle's master (Angus MacDougal).

masquerade costume poll! (take two!)

I know what you're thinking.

"Wait, Brandi's CDJ is on my character's friendspage?! What?! How?!"

Brandi's CDJ is a permanent account (and thus has poll capabilities). The mod journal, being free, does not.

And I wanted to do a poll.

SO. The Masquerade is going to have a costume contest. Rump will be in the process of announcing the winners when the DEs are slipping out and slipping back in. So, we figured we might as well figure out winners. xD Obv for some of the categories, we might go with NPCs for the winners, but this is the Viewer's Choice: the players get to pick which costumes they like best for each category! :D

So. Poll. Vote! :D

Cut for the poll~ )

Quidditch Scores

QUIDDITCH SCORES BE HERE.

Highlights of the weekend include:

- The 'Pie Squared match (Harpies and Magpies) which went on forever (about 8 hours, actually) in the rain.
- A really quick match of the Harpies versus the Cannons, who were crushed without one scored goal.
- Old rivals facing off with the Bats versus the Kestrals.

And uhm. Fudge the rest if you'd like. That is all!

IMPORTANT THING

YO.

Right, so! I forgot to say this, but since Greyback's NPC for the sake of my nefarious purposes, I've gone ahead and made a log of important-ish historical werewolf business. Stuff that would be known or could be looked up, essentially.

WHY? It's going to get a lot more fun for werewolves, and that doc is part of the springboard for what's to come. That is all! :D

you have questions? we have answers!

Okay, Whit posted a question to the luck rolls post, but then she deleted it (:P), but with the glory of e-mailed comments, I'm able to C&P it here because, Whit, it WAS A VERY GOOD QUESTION, and so I am going to answer it! :)

Here's a question! I know we're not being paired up for our logs and whatnot. Can we (I) maybe post a wanted ad in either the OOC or Lines community based on the sort of fight I want to log for my characters? That way, likeminded players can respond to the ads and the like.

If this is retarded and should be settled in AIM land or chat land, let me know, but I think it'd be sort of like a battle dance card!

And she meant this regarding the civilians, not the active fighters.

If you would like to get your civilians involved in a battle (to catch some stray hexes or what-have-you, or to be protected by whoever is fighting the Big Bad DEs in that battle, or whatever you want), you can go ahead and post an ad in the LINES comm ([info]find_the_lines) in this post in the lines comm with what sort of fight you'd like your civvie characters involved in.

And hopefully soon, y'all will have your active fighters paired up!

... and now I run off to my internship. ♥!
