let's get ready to ruuuuuuuuumble!

Alright, guys! Now that luck rolls are done, I've finally gotten PAIRINGS done, as well! Yay!

I tried to keep y'all's requests in mind, but I also tried to keep in mind who got positives or negatives on the luck rolls. I also took the luck rolls into consideration for PLACEMENTS. Yes, below the cut you will find a new version of the ballroom layout, this time with nice little colored circles that are labeled. There are a whopping TWENTY-SEVEN BATTLES going on in this ballroom on Halloween, so three battles were assigned to each of the nine circles. Your battle should more or less take place in the area of the circle. Yes, this means that you'll have to coordinate with the other people in your circle. You don't have to fight together (those would be some epically huge and confusing logs), but you should probably outline the fifteen minutes that your characters will be fighting in the same space: is somebody going to be thrown into the buffet table? Probably all three fights in space D shouldn't end up with somebody thrown into the buffet table (or at least not all at once!). Likewise with space G and the stage.

Also below the cut is the chart of who's fighting whom, what their battle system total was (you know, after all the offense / defense / etc), and what their luck roll was, in addition to their assigned fighting area.

Have fun, and get to plotting and logging and fighting! All fighting should stop after about fifteen minutes, when Voldemort enters the ballroom.

When you're done with your battle logging, C&P it into the appropriate space in the gdoc! I'll be updating it in the morning with the pairings in there, so all you have to do is C&P the battle under your pairing's names!

One final note: yes, there are a lot of NPCs. As you can see, we need Death Eaters BADLY. The "Possible NPCs" are Death Eaters that are held ... if you're paired up with one of them, contact them and find out if they'd be interested in logging their battle. If you see a Death Eater on the list that you'd like to app soon-ish, contact the people who are fighting that NPC and ask if you can play the NPC for them.

luck rolls!

Alright, guys! In case you missed chat tonight, we did LUCK ROLLS. Below the cut is the description of what, exactly, the luck rolls mean (both for fighters and for civilians), as well as what the rolls actually were.

more Massacre Ball stuff!

Alright, guys! We're down to three weeks, so we wanna finish getting everything set up so that everybody can get their battle logs done.

So! If you haven't already, head on over to this post and comment with whichever characters are going to be involved in the battle. You have until SUNDAY NIGHT (central time) to comment, at which point your lovely modlies will start matching you up for battle.

The timeline of the night has changed slightly, so swing by the gdoc to check it out. Because of the new timeline, though, we're going to have everybody only fighting one battle, so don't worry about that question of "how many."

Kapish?

Awesome.

Oh, and Sunday night is also when we will be doing Luck Rolls in chat. So if you wanna watch, come join us! :D

Halloween Masquerade Ball!

Alright, guys! Sorry it took so long, I had to finish setting up the gdoc.

SO. We have another big battle to get ready for! On Halloween, during Rump's big Masquerade Ball For Unity, Voldemort will reveal himself kinky! and make a big announcement, do something truly nefarious that you have to check the gdoc for, and then his minions Death Eaters will have their fun. Because Voldie needs to show that he means bizniz.

The gdoc is located here, and you should all have access to it now.

drumroll, please

IT IS TIME FOR THE GRAND UNVEILING.

We have slightly tweaked the spreadsheet for the new battle system, and we, your beloved mods (mostly Kate), have gone through and made up a very nice series of charts that details what each level is for EVERY SINGLE skill and ability. So HOPEFULLY this means there will be no more confusion when it comes to filling out your character's numbers.

AND SO.

The new spreadsheet is here.

The BEAUTIFUL new charts for Ability Levels are here.

GO! USE! REJOICE IN THE AWESOMENESS THAT IS YOUR MODLY TEAM.

These links will be going up in the Various Information post shortly, and the slightly revamped application will also be going up shortly.

You can add or edit your characters' numbers from now until September 10, at which point the spreadsheet will be locked down.

explaining the new system of battle

(write-up by the ravishing Kate)

So now we've finished the first big battle, and we've all started discussing it. There were things that went well, there were things that could have gone better, but overall it was a success. Nonetheless, as part of making this the best game it can possibly be for the players who are in it, it's important that we be willing to adjust what doesn't work in order to make it all work better.

The rest cut for length. Oops. )

roll results and battle stuff!

Alright! Everyone who was in chat tonight when I got home from work already knows what the results of the rolls were, but here's the Official Result List, along with a link to the Official King's Cross Attack gdoc, which includes the pairings of who's fighting whom.

Results of the Rolls! )

The doc is available for viewing here, and everyone has been invited to edit it. If you didn't get the invitation, let me know. I threw in quite a few NPCs to even things out, so those who are logging with NPCs can decide among themselves who does the NPCing or how it's done or whatever. There's also a link provided in the document to Alie's / Edgar's map of King's Cross. I tried to stick with that as close as I could when doing the pairings, so please be sure to check it out, especially if your characters are noted as being in a certain position.

Anyway! Have fun with the logging, and please try to have your parts of the log done by the evening of the 31st so that we can post it on the 1st! :)
