just a reminder

Okay, guys. There seems to be a little bit of confusion about the events at the end of the masquerade ball (partly my fault, for updating y'all here and then forgetting to update the gdoc), so I figured I'd remind everyone of the order of events, so those who haven't finished their logs have it straight, and those who have can go back and double-check to make sure that they got it all down right.

- 9:00 pm: band stops playing. Rump gets up on stage, starts announcing the costume contest winners. it's very "I don't want to ruin the fun by unmasking you, so just come on up here, accept your prize which is probably a ribbon or something, take a bow, and then get out of my spotlight, foo'." During this timespan, the DEs are carefully slipping out in order to get their masks and robes of eating death on.
- 9:10 pm: DEs burst into the ballroom and interrupt Rump's time to shine. Fighting ensues. Rump cowers on the stage like a scared little rabbit. His Auror guard protects him.
- 9:25 pm: the anti-apparation wards destroyed, Voldie apparates onto the stage. with all the noise in the room from the fighting, probably nobody can hear the telltale pop. if anyone happens to be looking at the stage, they might notice a hooded figure standing there, but it's reasonable to assume that he took the stairs onto the stage. because, y'know, anti-apparation wards. Voldie shoots off an AK (people might see the flash of green) and Dawlish takes it for Rump. Voldie shoots off another AK (again, people might see the flash of green) and gets Rump this time. Voldie gtfos, while shooting off a dark mark into the ballroom. from safely away, he uses a sonorus charm to give his little speech. this is the DEs' cue to gtfo, as well, if they haven't already. now that apparation is possible within the ballroom, likely anyone who is able to is gtfoing, so it shouldn't be too noticeable if people are apparating back in (like DEs who apparated out, tossed the robes & mask, and then apparated back to feign injured bystander in order to get a free pass to go to Mungo's)

got it? great! :)

Also, on a semi-related note: a shield charm is an active thing. If your wand is doing that (maintaining a shield charm, that is), it can't be doing other things. If your timing's good, you can send off a hex or jinx or whatever, then get a shield charm back up, but you can't do both at once.
