dunhaven; ooc community

i'm going to leave this as an ooc discussion rather than ic/ooc because i did NOT get any cute images or anything and i am tired !!!! and don't want to code a pretty entry lmao

so alee's baby shower was today at sarah's house (inside, again)! there is also a small yard out back, and there are yard games, but i think it was a little cold today so i don't know if anyone was brave enough for that. :D

decor: sarah tried to stay away from gender-specific decorations, and instead decorated in a fantasy creatures theme (like the invitations). mermaids and dragons and unicorns and stuff like that! very bright and colorful.

food: lots of snacks and probably sandwiches and cute cupcakes that also fit the above theme

games/projects: things like guess the baby animal where you guess what different baby animals are called. a word scramble. guess that baby - everyone was asked to bring a baby picture of themselves, and sarah put them up on a board so everyone could guess who was who. diaper derby: split up into teams of two, one person has 5 minutes to make a diaper out of toilet paper on the other person, "best" diaper wins ("best" is, of course, up to the judgment of the parents). draw the baby: everyone gets a paper plate and a marker, and they have to put the plate on their head and draw a baby. in her studio/second bedroom, there is also a decorating station for decorating wooden blocks and onesies.

SO DID YOU COME? the grant parents drove down from nyc for this, so they'll be around to meet everyone!

HI GUYS. All it took was Laura mentioning it for an idea to take root. One viewing of "Rogue One" later aaaand... Mehdi was born.

This is Mehdi Khan aka Bodhi Rook from Star Wars. He is the first of five kids to Pakistani immigrant parents. He was originally born in DC, but his family moved to Dunhaven when he was still a toddler so his childhood is all local. He graduated from high school in 2001 and then went on to study at MIT before getting a job as an Aerospace Engineer at NASA. He did that for several years before he grew restless; his life was all work, all the time and he felt like the other desires or goals he had for himself had taken back burner and he didn't like that. So, he quit his job and moved back to Dunhaven in 2013. He worked at the local mechanic's shop for a year, then ended up buying it himself when the owner decided to retire and that's what he's been up to ever since.

SO YEAH. As a kid/teenager, Mehdi was pretty shy. He had friends, but he only opened up to them and otherwise people thought he was just that quiet nerdy guy. He was a good kid and never got into trouble, that kind of thing. He's still very much that kid, but he's grown more confident and less socially awkward. You can read more about him here!

I'd love plots of all shapes and sizes, so throw them at me. :3 Customers, repeat customers, friends from school, friends he's made since coming back to Dunhaven, etc. He has a boatload of younger siblings ranging from ages 32-25, so there's potential for anyone to know him as their older brother if they happen to be friends with one of them.
