I'm scared of that, too. I'm scared that we're not supposed to have something this good. That if we keep moving and growing, soon Gotham and this goddamn door is going to catch up and realize we've been off the hook for too long. What if we can't take it? What if we aren't supposed to do all of this? At least in this limbo, maybe the universe won't catch onto how real this is and fucking ruin it because no one is allowed to be happy in Gotham.

[There's a long pause. Instead of responding to the rest, she sends him a link to the top comment (that's it), and keeps the cursor blinking.]

[Eddie's upset. He's actually not that far away from Stephanie's apartment, so he starts walking in a random direction. The cursor is gone for a while as he walks. Eventually he stops somewhere at a quiet coffee shop. He orders a coffee. Places the weird root on the chair across from him and sits down to read the comment.]

That anon? Told me that all love ends with loss and the question you have to ask yourself is if it's worth it anyway.
