The night of the Masquerade is here and it is obvious before one even enters that Kingsley’s Event Coordinator has done his job superbly. Once one gets inside to the Ballroom, with adjoining dining room for dining, you are met with neon colors amongst a dimly lit room. Music is playing and there are entertainers in the midst of all the guest performing for the delight of their audience.

The ballroom was impressive and rather large. Looking from the outside of the Manor one would not think a room of this size would fit, but thanks to magic it did. Just off to the left was the area reserved for dining. The decorations were simple but elegant and as feminine in nature as his two over-zealous advisers could get away with. On the right side of the ballroom there were a number of overly large french doors which opened on a courtyard decked out for the winter weather and spelled so that the temperature would be comfortable to walk in without a cloak but yet would not melt the snow.

This time Kingsley had been able to doge the job of greeting guests, instead he was in the rather big ballroom. He smiled and greeted the people who came up to him, congratulating him on his birthday. He would have been much happier with a small family gathering, but he would have to wait for tomorrow night when he would have dinner with them. When he was alone once more he shifted a bit, yet again uncomfortable. The outfit was nothing more than normal, he was use to wearing suits, but the shoes. He hated new shoes. He had not been allowed to break them in properly and could already feel the blisters forming.

Unlike the other times he was waiting with Rhianna in her office for the soon to be couple to arrive he was not in his usual seat. Instead he was standing and looking out the only window in the room. It was not, in fact, a real window, but one magicked to look like one. Usually it showed the streets of Diagon Alley, but today it afforded a view of the streets in Hogsmeade Village.

The sight was interesting if only because it was different than usual, but it was not the only subject of thought. As always he also pondered on the coming match. This one was unusual, in his opinion. He honestly could not see why they were a good match. Apparently the 'Fates' knew something he did not.

"You should sit down," came the soft, melodic voice of Seer Nesta. "They will be here soon." It was not her normal voice, of course. She had already put on her veil, but it was the one he heard.

He nodded in reply even though he did not look at her. After a moments pause he turned and went to his usual chair. Yes, it was only a minute until one o'clock.

It was Sunday afternoon and Kingsley Shacklebolt, Minister of Magic, was hiding from his publicist and his 'honor guard'. Sure he was Minister of Magic and needed to keep his days structured and keep his person from being assassinated, but even he needed a break from it. He was an Auror once himself and he fought and survived the second war. He was confidant in his own ability to take care of himself.

So he was in the bookstore, the hood of his cloak pulled low over his face and hunched over, browsing the shelves. He was in the fiction section at the moment, searching for any muggle books that could have, possibily, found themselves in the very wizarding bookstores. So far he was having no luck.

Kingsley was annoyed. Very annoyed. Currently he was standing in the entry way wearing dress robes that were uncomfortable. Sure the dark blue made him look dashing, as the seamstress had put it, but it did not make the damned thing more comfortable to wear. He rubbed his shaved head with one hand, something he usually did when he was annoyed and/or frustrated.

The smile he gave those who arrived for the damnable party was tight, though friendly. He could not take out his annoyances on his guests. It was not their fault that his publicist and event coordinator ignored his wishes on a regular basis. He almost wished he had talked Rhianna into attending under the guise of Seer Nesta, at least then things would be... interesting.
