The Daily Prophet Headline: Rhinna Selwyn found dead in her apartment.

Written by Persphone Lestrange.

Today, Rhinna Selwyn was found dead in her apartment and it looks like she had killed herself. The note that was left was not only in her hand writing but in it she says that she was Seer Nesta and that she was tired of being a pawn in someone else’s game. Were all out marriages a lie and if so what would the Ministry do to fix this problem?

When Aurors searched her home they found a man’s ring that under further inspection belongs to Mundungus Fletcher of the Order of the Phoenix. Fletcher was picked up this morning for questioning about her death.

Was the note a lie and when will Minister Shacklebolt be willing to answer questions related to the death of Miss Selwyn?

Interview with Auror Cadell Warrington
by Charmaine Crouch

On February 5th I was granted the chance to interview an Auror within the Ministry, Cadell Warington. This young man is working in unique conditions and I could not help but want to share his story. So firstly, allow me to instruct you on a few particulars. While attending Hogwarts Mr. Warrington was not only a Slytherin but also a member of the Inquisitorial Squad, though he did not take part in the Final Battle. When he completed his training as a Auror, and when the Death Eater Reform Project was brought to light, Mr. Warrington joined the ranks of those who would participate; not as those on the Dark Lord's side, but as one of the average citizenry.

With that shared, allow me to now give you my interview with him.

Charmaine Crouch (C.C.): "Thank you for agreeing to this interview, Mr. Warrington. According to my sources you have recently joined the Ministry as an Auror. That is quite a feat. Are you enjoying your current position?"

Cadell Warrington (C.W.): “I've been an Auror for almost seven months now, and I'm enjoying the accomplishment, yes. I worked very hard for the privilege of being an Auror.”

C.C.: "From all reports I have been able to find you have been doing quite well in your assignments. You are shaping up to be quite a good Auror, though I suspect it is not without cost. While I was preparing for this interview my sources also made me aware of the fact that you once were a member of the Inquisitorial Squad.

Does this pervious affiliation have any effect on your job, even though you took no part in the final battle?"

C.W.: "Of course I'm doing well. I've spent almost half my life training to be an Auror. Not that it seems to matter to some.

Miss Crouch, what do you think? I didn't join the Squad because I had any interest in Voldemort and his ilk. Far from it. But do you think that matters? Let's just say that keeping my position as Auror was greatly dependent on my volunteering for the Minister's Program."

C.C.: "Was this part of your contact when you were hired into the Department of Magical Law Enforcement?"

C.W.: "No, it wasn't. Dozens of potential Aurors all sign the same contract. This caveat was proposed later because I was a 'special case'."

C.C.: "Did they put any of this into writing?"

C.W.: "No, of course they didn't.”

C.C.: "Now I have to ask, why did you join the Inquisitorial Squad?"

C.W.: "I joined because I believed the Ministry was in the right. Not their denials that Voldemort had returned, mind you. But rather that Dumbledore was a crackpot who played favorites and his influence had Hogwarts needing to be dealt with."

C.C.: "Can you elaborate more on that? Such as how far did his favoritism go? How did it effect yourself and those around you who did not benefit from being in his good graces?"

C.W.: "I'm sure you don't need me to spell it out for you, Miss Crouch. But I'd say rewarding unruly students for offenses that would have gotten anyone else expelled reeks of blatant and deplorable favoritism."

C.C.: "Now, the Death Eater Reform Project. Can you tell me your thoughts on it in general and also as a participant?"

C.W.: "Quite frankly, at best I think the project is a lost cause with absolutely no chance of working.

I read your interview with the Minister and that so-called Seer. She might be certified, but has she been trained? Does anyone even know if the visions she's having are the ones she's sharing? For all anyone knows, she could be lying about what she sees. Who in their right mind would allow some heretofore unknown seer throw together people in unbreakable marriages, people who wouldn't spit on each other if they were on fire on the best of days?"

C.C.: "So you do not think that there is any chance to reform these Death Eaters?"

C.W.: "The majority of them, no. The older generations are too set in their ways and most of the younger generations have been indoctrinated far too deeply. I'm sure there are a handful of exceptions, but even that estimation is being generous.

If the Minister was interested in reforming these Death Eaters, there are far better ways to do so than allowing them to be free and making some poor citizen suffer being married to them, living day to day in constant fear of his or her life. Sybil Trelawney already paid the price for Seer Nesta and the Minister's mistake. How many more innocent people will have to before this is over?"

And so the Interview ended with him asking questions many others have risen. So far all my requests for a follow-up interview have been denied by the Ministry. Will we ever get answers to these questions? Or will we have to continue to wait in fear for when an owl delivers us our fate?

Interview with Minister Shacklebolt and Seer Nesta
By Charmaine Crouch

On February 3rd I was given the chance to interview the Minister of Magic and Seer Nesta, an experience that proved to bear much information and insight. During this interview I was able to ask many questions that have been on the minds of the populace. I now give you the transcription of the interview.

Charmaine Crouch (C.C.): “Thank you both for allowing me to conduct this much anticipated interview, Minister and Seer Nesta.”

Minister Shacklebolt (M.S.): “Not at all, Miss Crouch. This interview is long over-do, a fact both myself and Miss Nesta are all too aware of.”

Seer Nesta (S.N.): Nods in agreement, dressed in her everyday garb.

C.C.: “My first question must be to ask you both how this Project came to be?”

M.S.: “With a vision, of course.” He smiles charmingly.

S.N.: “It was a recurring vision I had. You have to understand, I thought it was rather ludicrous myself, but it was a persistent vision. Would not go away, then once I accepted the vision I saw the future it could bring about. A more peaceful one.”

C.C.: “’Could bring about’?”

S.N.: “Yes, nothing with seeing the future is a certain thing, despite popular opinion; I do know this very well. But that vision of the future, I could not, and did not want to ignore it, ignore the possibility. So I approached the Minister. We discussed everything pertaining to this very thoroughly; Minister Shacklebolt is not someone to commit to something as radical as this Project (Death Eater Reform Project) without exploring every possibility.”

M.S.: “As you well know, we decided the risks were worth the possibility of her vision of a peaceful future.”

C.C.: “’The risks’, risking the lives of innocent people is acceptable? One person has lost her life to this project and another almost did.”

M.S.: “At the time of the Project inception the possibility of the loss of life was very minimal.”

C.C.: “And now?”

S.N.: “As is the way of Fate or Destiny, it has changed due to the actions of others.”

C.C.: “Exactly how have things changed?”

S.N.: “We will have to wait and see. We are in the midst of change, so it is difficult to say for sure.”

C.C.: “I see. Is there, in fact, any proof that you are a Seer? So far my investigation into the matter has failed to bring forth and credintials.”

M.S.: Shows official document. “We anticipated your question, and had this prepared. Before the Death Eater Reform Project could be approved Miss Nesta withstood testing by the Wizengamot. They verify that she is a Seer in truth and her vision’s tend to be more accurate than the norm.”

C.C.: “And will this be made public?”

S.N.: “Of course.”

M.S.: “We have been assured by the Records Department that the information has been unsealed and can be viewed by the public.”

C.C.: “I see on this document that you are referred to as simply Nesta. One can assume this is an alias and not, in fact, your name. Who are you really, and why do you hide yourself?”

S.N.: “The reason I go by Nesta is because I wish to keep my personal life separate from my duties with the Ministry. I will admit that safety is one of the reasons for this, but most importantly I value my privacy.”

C.C.: “So I take it you will not be sharing your true identity with the public any time soon?”

S.N.: “No I will not. I have not deluded myself into thinking I can keep my secret forever, I know eventually it will be found out, but until then I will I will go on as I have been.”

C.C.: “With the recent incident concerning Sybill Macnair, formerly Trelawney, I am sure the public will not be fond of this. Why should the public trust your judgment after this, especially since they do not know who you are?”

N.S.: “I cannot tell them to trust them, and at this time I do not know how to regain their trust. I do know, however, that knowing my true identity will not sway them one way or another. All I can do is say that if I had ever thought that their marriage would turn out the way it did then I never would have sanctioned it. I take each pairing to heart and wish nothing but for mutual love and understanding to blossom between each couple.”

M.S.: Looks at watch. “I am afraid we will have to end this interview now. We both have a meeting to attend soon and we must prepare for it.”

C.C.: “Very well. Thank you both.”

While this interview answers some question it also raises many more in their place.

Hogwarts Professor put in St. Mungos: Walden Macnair Arrested

Article Written By
Charmaine Crouch

Earlier this month a Hogwarts Professor was married in the Death Eater Reform Project. Sibyll Trelawney, one of the two Divination Instructors at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was married to former Death Eater, Walden Macnair. According to acquaintances of Mrs. Macnair, the marriage was disastrous from the start.

When her actions where describe to a Medi-Wizard from the Mental and Emotional Disturbance Ward he replied that ‘She showed classic signs of spousal abuse.’ Since the marriage the usually outspoken Professor became more of a recluse and focused more intently on the disasters around her. This all came to an end, however, earlier this morning.
At eight o’clock in the morning a class of Fourth Year Ravenclaw’s and Hufflepuff’s entered her classroom to find their Professor beat to the point of near death. She was given immediate first aid by the Hogwarts School Nurse before being transported to St. Mungos for further care. The state of her current condition has not yet been released.

Upon the discovery of his wife’s body Auror’s were dispatched in order to apprehend Walden Macnair whom they suspected of being the culprit. When he was tracked down and surrounded Macnair confessed to the crime and made an attempt to escape. He has been apprehended and is awaiting his trial in Azkaban.

With a second marriage ending in disaster, will the Ministry see reason and abolish the Death Eater Reform Project, or will it take more innocent people coming to harm for them to abolish it?

Married Death Eaters to be Released!
by Charmaine Crouch

The Ministry of Magic has released information regarding the release of former Death Eaters who were married previously to being incarcerated. After months of debate a set of guidelines were agreed on in order to insure the safety of the public. Ministry officials assure us that they will be closely monitored in order to ensure the safety of the populace. This of course raises the question on would it not be best to keep them in Azkaban in order to ensure our safety?

The regulations of this new section of the Death Eater Reform Project are as follows:

- Death Eaters married before their imprisonment may be released from Azkaban under conditions.

- Wand will be surrendered and modified by a certified Ministry employee so that the casting of spells used for offensive casting cannot be performed. The attempt to cast an Unforgivable will result in the destruction of the wand, after which the wand will not be replaced.

- They will be required to meet with a counselor once a month for evaluations on their reformation. Their counselor will also act as a guide on the road of reformation. A St. Mungo’s Medi-wizard from the Mental and Emotional Disturbance Ward will interview and then assign the proper individual to act as their counselor.

- They will not be under House Arrest, but will be monitored by the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

Will these regulations be enough to keep us safe? One can only pray that freedom will be enough to keep a leash on these men and women now being released.

Minister’s Birthday
by Charmaine Crouch

Saturday, January 11th, I was delighted to be among the many people invited in order to celebrate the thirty-fifth birthday of Kingsley Shacklebolt, our Minister of Magic. It was a grand occasion attended by a great many people, though I suspect that celebrating the Minister’s birthday was on the top of their list. This is because among those attending were the newlywed couples of the Death Eater Reform Project and those yet to have been married off.

The most widely known of this infamous grouping of people in attendance were Rodolphus Lestrange, both Slewyn sisters, Evan Rosier with his new wife and one of the most controversial couples, Fenrir Greyback (Jason Faust) and Lavender Faust nee Brown. It was apparent that they were the main attraction of the night and not our most esteemed Minister. It was a surprise, though, to see that instead of being terrified of her werewolf sire, Mrs. Faust was, in fact, quite comfortable standing at his side for the most night.

There was another shocking sight amongst the crowd. Nesta, the Ministry appointed Seer for the Death Eater Reform Project, was in appearance and decked out in her usual blue. This time, though, we were given a greater glimpse of the woman behind the veil. Revealed was the pale skin and blonde hair of a woman not yet in her majority. This brings questions forth on whether or not a woman young in years should be trusted with the lives of so many.

As the night wore on…

Daily Prophet

This morning the Ministry released the names of the newest pair married off in the Death Eater Reform Project. Death Eater, Evan Rosier has been married to none other than Miss Hestia Jones, now Rosier. Hestia Rosier is formerly of the Order of the Phoenix and is now a healer at St. Muno's. We were unable to reach...

I have to say that while I abhor this entire project for making a sham out of our most holy union, I do applaud this newest match. While I feel sorry for Ms. Hestia Jones being married off to such a horrid person, I am also happy at the ironic justice of it. Evan Rosier, known for his very strong views on Purism, is married to a muggleborn. The only thing better would be for him to have married a muggle woman with no hint of magic.
