Who: Izabela Svetkova, Tom Reed
When: Wednesday, June 15, before the Carnival opens.
Where: Staff area, near the trailers.
What: Catching up before another 'day at the office.'
Rating: No idea, but probably not too high. PG/PG-13?
Status: In progress.
Tom didn't particularly like daytime, but he did enjoy the lull before the Carnival gates opened and the crowds swarmed in. He had a pre-work routine; a cigarette in front of his trailer before breakfast, which bought him time to think and people-watch before he had to go inside to eat and get into costume. In fact, eating was part of his costume; he'd take off his shirt and get his face and chest properly messy before creeping off to the dark recesses of the haunted house. It was a disgusting way to spend a day and offended even Tom's sense of hygiene, but the gore provided a far better costume than anything he could've bought at a shop. Combined with his natural physical traits, he looked like a real monster. Take that, rubber masks.
Thankfully, he hadn't yet reached the raw steak portion of the morning. Tom was still crouching in front of his trailer, his knees bent and his weight settled over the balls of his feet. His back was arched in a way that wouldn't have been comfortable for a regular human being, and his free left arm rested on his thigh. His right hand held the pre-shift cigarette.
As people wandered by, Tom greeted those he knew. It didn't matter if the face were friendly or not - in fact, he took a little quiet pleasure in catching the reactions of the unfriendly. The pleasant acquaintances, however, received a few more words. Every now and again he'd flick a little ash from his cigarette.
