She couldn't help it. The metaphor made her laugh. Just the way it was phrased made her smile, and that chuckle wasn't far behind. "It's true, you can't very well tell them no. It'd just be rude." The bit of a wink didn't escape her notice, and it made her chuckle a bit more. "Sometimes the world needs a showoff. You just take care to keep your head on your shoulders."
Nosy question. She'd gotten her fair share of those and then some. Most times she didn't really mind answering them unless they really and truly struck a nerve. Tom's question wasn't bad, though. Not really. "My mother never let me leave the house. So nobody got a look, good or otherwise." She shrugged a bit. "I was home-schooled. My mom gave me anything and everything I wanted just so I'd never express interest in going outside. But then one day I couldn't take not knowing what was out there. We argued. I accidentally petrified her...so that was kind of the end of the hiding."
She was trying to think of something nosy to ask in return. "Talkative as I am, I'm not as good at nosy," she said, chuckling a bit.
