Some thought that the time before the carnival opened up to the patrons was terribly boring. Others liked it because it meant catching up on conversation or things missed in the day-to-day scuffle. Izabela was of the latter opinion. The lull was really only ever boring when she didn't have anything to do or anyone to talk to. That day seemed like it was shaping up that way, which obviously meant that she needed to find something to pass the time or someone to pass the time with. She'd risen that morning like any other day. The wave of scents from in and around her trailer hit her like a brick wall and she had to rinse her mouth out to ensure that no venom was left from when she slept. The accidental petrification of a bird that perched on her window was not in the cards, but occasionally it happened. But, it was better than accidental murder, right? Right.
The drawbacks of the morning were traded off evenly with the heat of their location. It was absolutely blissful, really. So much better than the cold back east. She had no problem dressing only in a crop top and a small pair of shorts, leaving her scales on display for anyone and everyone to see. What did she care? In Izabela's mind, there wasn't anything wrong with her snake-tasticness. It certainly entertained the audience in the sideshow tent well enough.
"What to do, what to do?" she spoke softly to herself, grabbing up half a bagel to nibble on as she left her trailer. "Or rather, who to talk to?" That would all depend on who she came across first, of course. So, the Bulgarian half-basilisk just walked wherever her feet took her. Soon enough the half bagel was gone and she was left to sling her hands in her pockets. Her tongue flicked out every now and again, testing the air. And she caught a familiar scent before she saw who it belonged to. A certain boogeyman having a cigarette. "Can boogeymen get lung cancer?" she asked nonchalantly, stopping right by Tom. She wasn't bothered by the "unnatural" arch in his back or the way he looked. What did she care? "I imagine that the ones coughing up a lung can't possibly be that scary."
