Apparently bogeymen and basilisks have something in common." She chuckled a little bit. "Ever seen or read Harry Potter? They had a gigantic snake slithering through their school, but it was scary because they had no idea what the fuck was going on. Just the mysterious noises. And if you did see what was scaring you face to face...you got petrified or died." Granted, it's not like she went around doing that for fun. She was meant to shock, not to scare. That was more up Tom's alley, certainly.
The chewing on the toothpick might have been entirely ungentlemanly, but Izabela didn't really mind. She'd seen far, far worse when it came to men. Not bogeyman, though.
