Forgive me if this is too personal a question for such a public space, but: has anyone else experienced a change in their dreams after arriving here?

I was dreaming about the station scouts last night, and whether or not I’d checked the snacks were allergen free… I mean it’s different, but I guess that’s not the sort of change you’re talking about?

Did you have similar sorts of dreams before? Maybe not involving the activities you do on the station but normal life scenarios.

I used to have night terrors and flashbacks. My dreams are a lot more wholesome and tame now.

You were able to find peace here?

Yeah, I guess you could say that.

What kind of change do you mean? The content of your dreams? Actually dreaming where you didn't before (or the other way round)? Something like that?

I can remember them now, something I could only do in bits and pieces before. Is the connection to the fade thin here?

I'd need to know what the fade is, before I could answer that.

That is more than fair, though you not knowing already answers my question. If you're not connected to where dreams come from, where do yours come from?

I might have known it by a different name.

Most people would think that dreams are simply your brain sorting out your memories from the previous day. But I don't dream like that, I never have. My dreams come from my Shine. I have nightmares dream of ghosts and I have visions.

I don't sleep a lot.

You could try to.

My dreams are far more boring than they used to be, but my life is also more boring, so that explains some of it.

I'm an adventurer. I'm used to going on quests that took me all over the place. Being stuck in one place is boring by comparison. I like deep space, but I could already open up a portal to it whenever I wanted if I felt like looking at it.

Yes. It was a monumental change. Are they good dreams, or bad ones?

Not truly good or bad, but I am more aware of them now. Before they would be a blur, though that seemed to lessen as I progressed in my training.

Mine have changed, but without a priestess to interpret them, I don't know what to make of it. Maybe it's normal, when everything else in your life changes, that dreams change too.

Possibly, though I am getting the impression that dreams and dreaming can be very different depending on where one comes from.

Our understanding of them can be, and maybe the people who are not human dream in different ways. I was always told that our dreams are there to teach us something. What do they say about dreams on your homeworld?

We all visit the fade in our dreams, save the dwarves. Those with magic can apparently interact, and possibly control their dreams, but the rest of us mostly just see blurs and the faintest of snippets. I suppose that since I can remember mine I must truly be cut off from the world I came from.

I have magic, and I didn't know that the dreams of people without it were blurred. Is the clarity frightening, or just the idea of being cut off from the familiar? I was cut off from my magic for a while and it was very frightening at first.

The priestesses say that nothing in a dream is what it seems. All the things you see are symbols, you just need to know how to read them.
