Greetings to whomever finds this note,

I have been informed that we are on a space station. I, much like Jacob Frye, have only arrived here recently. We have been here long enough to settle down at least, and thanks to Sophia, have been given a great deal of information about our new home.

I do however have an inquiry I wish to share. From what I have observed, this space station is like an island, floating in a sea of stars. There are worlds out there beyond those stars and there are means to travel to them in the form of space ships. I wish to learn how to sail one of these ships. Might there be someone willing to teach me? I would ask you to name your price, of course.

Yours,

Captain Edward Kenway.

Hello Edward. I am Katherine and I am certainly willing to add one more student to my list. As for my price... I would ask of you the most gruesome piece of poetry you can find/come up with.

Is that all you ask for? I am a curious man. Why gruesome?

Unless you have an inkling to teach a manticore how to do 'sit', that is all I am asking for.

Because I find terrible poetry far more entertaining than a delicate piece of writing. So make it bad... really bad.

A manticore? Do you jest?

I am hardly a poet, nor do I think I am capable of finding such written works but I will see what I can do.

I would never jest about such serious matters. Rufus does not know his manners and it shows. He is a bad example for the rest of my crew.

Being hardly a poet, makes you the perfect man for the job.

You named a manticore, "Rufus"? And you have a crew?

So you wish for subpar poetry? And not just gruesome poetry?

I did. It was between "Rufus" and "snakey McGoatface". He glared less at "Rufus" so "Rufus" it was. And yes, I have a crew... various kind of animals all better at 'sit' than "Rufus", well, except the horses.

Yes. Poetry of gruesome quality. I want to cringe at every line I'm reading. Do your worst, basically.

Have you named all of the animals in your care?

Might I ask why you want terrible poetry?

Most. With some I was able to find out their original name.

My great grandma always used to sit us down and told us that if we wanted to know the true soul of a man, we just need to request a piece of bad poetry. The man's choice would reveal the man's very nature.

Captain Kenway... I will say you are a braver man than I.

Braver? How so?

Because the only way I would get in one of those metal sarcophagi is either very very drunk, knocked unconscious.

Because I can't fly if it decides to break apart.

Aye, you and my daughter both. But being alive while they were invented, and tested and seeing all the things that can go wrong... And the sorrow it brings when they do... It's not something I can do sober.

So I suppose there's no way I can convince you to join my crew then?

I'd offer, but Kat's better at teaching than me, and I'm shit at landing. Are you looking for something smaller to fly, or will only the big things work for you?

A good, strong and hearty crew is helpful.

I am uncertain. I have yet to see these ships for myself. Is there a way I can see them first?

It is, but sometimes you don't need a crew at all. But having one does prevent Space Madness.

Of course, I don't imagine Kat's going to make you fly one blind. It's a good plan to know the ship you're flying in and out top to bottom.

A ship's crew is her heart. I would ne'er sail alone.

A sailor must always sail, an explorer cannot be so easily contained. Still, I have yet to fully explore this strange station. Perhaps in time, I will feel the same as you did.

I actually live on my ship. I don't have an apartment on the station anymore. Or I do, there's stuff still in it, I just don't go to it.

A ship makes a goodly home, but it is also good to have a home to sail home to.
