Accidental Voice Post.
[ There's the sound of game pieces being knocked over and rearranged as well as being pushed across a game board. It's accompanied by the occasional meow. ]

You shouldn't doubt the cleverness of an animal. Especially a cat. It's entirely possible the cat is merely leading you on and it's a distraction from the move it will make next.

They watch. And observe. Learn. Wait. Then strike. If you've been teaching your feline friend how to play the game, then most likely it has been watching for some time. You have to play by his rules. Not yours.
