Accidental Voice Post.
[ There's the sound of game pieces being knocked over and rearranged as well as being pushed across a game board. It's accompanied by the occasional meow. ]

No, no, not like that. Diagonal. And only when the path is unblocked. Yes, yes, that's much better. Bishop to... C5, is it? Capture my pawn. Clever. Hm.

[ meow ]

[There is a bit of muffled chuckling. When Jim speaks, his tone is clearly amused though he is trying (somewhat) to mask it.]

Sherlock, you naughty, naught boy. I suppose I needn't ask what is it you've been up to lately, hmm?

[ Sherlock sounds obviously confused since he still has not realized his PDA is broadcasting. ]

Huh? Jim? When did you- Uh. Where are you?

[Jim clearly still sounds amused though he's managed to at least not sound mocking at the same time.]

Where am I? Why, I am at my flat, Sherlock. I'm assuming you are at yours as well, given your [He pauses, chuckling lightly.] hobbies, I suppose.

[There is a brief pause then a sigh.]

You're broadcasting, Sherlock. Check the settings on your device.

How did that- I never turned it on. I was certain it was shut off.

[ A long sigh accompanies another meow and some purring. Obviously not from Sherlock. ]

Whatever it's doing, I can't turn it off.

[ Long pause of confusion. ]

Donna? Are you guys spying on me? Where are- Oh.

[ he's found his PDA now! The sound of him clearing his throat is accompanied by him clearing away the gameboard. ]

I was curious as to whether they were clever enough.

Yes spying, from the nanny cam.

Has it worked? You should try thinking directly at the cat, they're psychic you know.

It has, amazingly. They're picking it up. Even if I have to make the moves for them because of the lack of thumbs.

Terribly sorry, Sherlock. Though I must ask. I'm sure you understand.

Were you teaching this particular skill to the kitten or the cat?

Would you not make an advance with the bishop? He is just a cat. One has to cut him some lack when it comes to strategy.

( Oddly, John doesn't sound the slightest bit surprised. He's used to this sort of thing. )

Are you teaching Crookshanks to play? Or Elf?

Both. Crookshanks is picking it up quicker, obviously, but I am giving the tutorial to both of them.

Of course.

Just be sure Elf doesn't feel like you're overlooking her because she's younger.

I'm picking up takeaway for dinner. Are you eating this week? And if so, do you have a preference?

I never would. If anything, she's the one that needs special attention.

I'm not working so I'm eating. Granted, with the dearth of cases, I might just end up with a healthy pattern.

He chases the pieces, you know... Freaks them out and then they can't concentrate.

You know... They're too busy watching Crookshanks and running off the board like mentals, and then they forget where they were because they're trying not to get bloody eaten. I lost my Castle for...

Oh. Hang on. Wait. I thought 'Mione would have told you about all that.

And your pieces probably don't move.

Sorry.
