Contrary to your own personal belief, Sirius, not everything is, in fact, about you. This place was utterly mental before you showed up and it'll be utterly mental when, and if, you leave. In the meantime, do us all a favour and think, yeah?

Why would Voldemort go to such lengths to pull a fast one on you? What'd be the point? Not to mention, do you really think he'd come up with something this barmy to make you believe? Lots of easier ways to get to someone than by brewing up something this out there, I'd say. And with that thought in mind, isn't it at least possible that we're all telling the truth and you really are in a place you've never heard of, can't leave, with intersecting timelines that should never have crossed? ~~Come on, Sirius, you do have at least a touch of common sense. Use it!~~

Basically, it's a title the Wizarding World gave my dad after Voldemort went after him when my dad was a baby and wound up disembodied for well over a decade for his trouble. Like I said. Long and sordid.

Well, we know a version of you. But you weren't precisely like... this.

And there's no need to thank me. I'm not having much more luck than anyone else, but now that my dad's talking to him I'm hoping he'll at least try to use his common sense.

Right. Well, essentially, Voldemort killed my grandparents and, when he tried to kill my dad, the curse rebounded thanks to blood magic on behalf of my grandmum's sacrifice to try and keep my dad safe. Everyone thought Voldemort was dead but turns out he'd only just survived. Eventually he got his body back and came back after my dad in a number of rather ridiculous ways, if you ask me, only to finally be defeated when my dad was still ~~technically~~ in school. And if you want to know more specifics than that, there are books on it. I believe the other you likely had a copy but if you don't see any lying about, I can loan you mine.

As far as you go, you were a Death Eater who wound up with a slight change of heart and who discovered that Voldemort had been making horcruxes, was manipulating everyone, and wasn't even a pureblood. You managed to track down one of the horcruxes and gave your life in order to see it was taken care of. You weren't really rude, necessarily, and not as bad as some other Slytherins of your time, but you certainly weren't... as you are now, either.

Voldemort, as far as I know, has been for-all-intents-and-purposes dead for the last year and a bit. But he has a shitload of mental leftover followers who are currently in hiding and seem pretty convinced that killing your 'Dad' will do something for bringing him back. And seeing as I'm the one who's meant to be keeping him safe, getting me out the way is quite a big part of that. Which is why I really, really need to get home.

But assuming you aren't one of said mental followers... what? I'm just supposed to sit here and hope I get sent back?

If he died the same way he did in my reality, he's not really dead. 'Course, in my reality, you weren't precisely around, so I suppose I can't say for sure how much of our realities are the same and how much varies. And my point still stands. This is an awful lot of work when a simple Killing Curse would knock you out of commission just as easily.

	Precisely. And if your reality turns out anything like mine, he'll be back. It'll take him a while but he'll turn up sooner or later, unfortunately.
