Right. Well, essentially, Voldemort killed my grandparents and, when he tried to kill my dad, the curse rebounded thanks to blood magic on behalf of my grandmum's sacrifice to try and keep my dad safe. Everyone thought Voldemort was dead but turns out he'd only just survived. Eventually he got his body back and came back after my dad in a number of rather ridiculous ways, if you ask me, only to finally be defeated when my dad was still ~~technically~~ in school. And if you want to know more specifics than that, there are books on it. I believe the other you likely had a copy but if you don't see any lying about, I can loan you mine.

As far as you go, you were a Death Eater who wound up with a slight change of heart and who discovered that Voldemort had been making horcruxes, was manipulating everyone, and wasn't even a pureblood. You managed to track down one of the horcruxes and gave your life in order to see it was taken care of. You weren't really rude, necessarily, and not as bad as some other Slytherins of your time, but you certainly weren't... as you are now, either.

	He kills James and Lily?! Horcruxes?! You're father survived that!? But then You Know Who came back!? But then your father defeated him?! Merlin's beard! That's almost too fantastic to believe.
