There will be no group IC starter as there are so many different things going on over the course of the day. But feel free to use this OOC post to:

→ figure out who you want to/need to log with

→ flail over random things

→ request logs from the NPCs

In advance of the August pcal (don't worry, you'll get it soon), we'd like to open sign-ups for an event that will be happening early in the month. Some of you may have seen rumor mill events before, but for those who haven't, here's how it works:

1. There are lots and lots of people in Cumberland, and those people just love to talk about each other, especially with all of these exciting things going on in the city recently...
   
2. Once every few months, we will helpfully compile the various rumors going around and provide them to you for your entertainment. Your characters can hear these things (or not) as they go about their daily lives.
   
3. PROFIT.

Comments to this post are screened. If you'd like to sign your character(s) up to have a rumor about them be featured in the August rumor mill, please comment with their name. If you know what sort of rumor you'd like, GREAT. Let us know. If you want to let us make it up for you, that's fine too, but no complaints regarding what we come up with if you give us carte blanche. ;) If you want a rumor about your character to involve another character in game, please do the courteous thing and ask the other player before submitting the rumor.

As you can see from this post, the BAD LYRIUM EVENT has begun! Mages and Templars - this is heavily your event. Since, y'know, you guys are the ones who drink lyrium like Oz drinks ale.

The bad lyrium has made its way into EVERY DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL. So, even if your mage/Templar doesn't buy from the Carta, they'll still be affected, as it has infiltrated the Wardens' lyrium supplies, as well as the Chantry and Circle.

Now, it's important to note that effects will take a few days to manifest, and depending on your character, there is a sliding scale of severity:

1 - Luna Lovegood (barely any side effects aside from some loopiness)
2 - Professor Trelawney (kiiiiiiiind of off your rocker but more or less harmless)
3 - Bellatrix Lestrange (burn shit to the grouuuuuuuund)

It's up to you where your character falls on this scale. It's likely to depend on how much lyrium your character usually uses (i.e. veteran Templars and Tevinter magisters will probably be far worse off than a Circle novice). If you want to leave it to the mods, please comment under the appropriate comment header and let us know! We'll roll for you and let you know!

This event is expected to from 7/22 to 7/31, but the earliest the heaviest of lyrium users would begin experiencing symptoms would be 7/25. Still, your character might notice any of the following about their lyrium as of now:

→ Ooooh shiny. The usual blue color of the lyrium seems way brighter.
→ Fingerlickin' good. The taste is slightly off and has a semi-sweet aftertaste.

We're back from vacation, just in time for tomorrow's Grey Warden Tourney! There will be an IC post up tomorrow under which you can post any and all threads/logs/etc, but here's a bit of info for you in advance!

There have been posters up advertising this tourney for a few weeks, so assume that anyone who goes out and about in town will know about it! Anyone is free to test themselves against the Wardens, but of course your character can attend as a spectator (or even as a healer, if that's a specialization he/she possesses). Some of the NPCs will be present (see comments), merchants will be around selling snacks and drinks, the Wardens will be accepting recruits, and the bouts will certainly be exciting!

Anyway, here's the plotting post for it. Feel free to use this post to:

→ figure out who you want to/need to log with

→ flail over random things

→ request logs from the NPCs, a couple of whom will be in attendance for your logging pleasure
