Entry tags:!event plotting post

As you can see from this post, the BAD LYRIUM EVENT has begun! Mages and Templars - this is heavily your event. Since, y'know, you guys are the ones who drink lyrium like Oz drinks ale.

The bad lyrium has made its way into EVERY DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL. So, even if your mage/Templar doesn't buy from the Carta, they'll still be affected, as it has infiltrated the Wardens' lyrium supplies, as well as the Chantry and Circle.

Now, it's important to note that effects will take a few days to manifest, and depending on your character, there is a sliding scale of severity:

1 - Luna Lovegood (barely any side effects aside from some loopiness)
2 - Professor Trelawney (kiiiiiiiind of off your rocker but more or less harmless)
3 - Bellatrix Lestrange (burn shit to the grouuuuuuuund)

It's up to you where your character falls on this scale. It's likely to depend on how much lyrium your character usually uses (i.e. veteran Templars and Tevinter magisters will probably be far worse off than a Circle novice). If you want to leave it to the mods, please comment under the appropriate comment header and let us know! We'll roll for you and let you know!

This event is expected to from 7/22 to 7/31, but the earliest the heaviest of lyrium users would begin experiencing symptoms would be 7/25. Still, your character might notice any of the following about their lyrium as of now:
→ Ooooh shiny. The usual blue color of the lyrium seems way brighter.
→ Fingerlickin' good. The taste is slightly off and has a semi-sweet aftertaste.

Please drink lyrium responsibly. Thank you.

i'm crying at this scale. so beautiful.

SO only one of mine will be directly affected: rosalind, being a spirit healer and dealing with a greater reliance/connection to the fade, takes more lyrium than maybe the average mage, but she'll be trelawney with a side of bellatrix anger. harmless, tbh, but REALLY EMOTIONAL.

i do, of course, offer interactions with my non lyrium users if someone wants to encounter them, i.e. bastien, godric and idril!

Only Cas takes lyrium, and he generally takes a pretty hefty amount on training/teaching days sooooooo he's gonna be pretty bad. Mostly, he's going to be hallucinating Blight voices errywhere and convinced THE ARCHDEMON IS UPON US ALLLLLLLLLL.

This in turn will make him jumpy and liable to say things without thinking about them. Mostly because thinking is hard. So hard. Ow his head.

Midha will wonder wtf is wrong with you Cas did you go drinking without me hdu

idk I need to remember the lore of this before I say anything but maybe Midha will suspect some sort of lyrium-related thing? but I don't think she'll trace it to the source by any means, ofc......

I mean after a few days anyone with a functioning brain (read: not the mages or the templars) will realize it's got to be the lyrium...............

Based on her results, Ivey will be noticeably...trippy, for lack of a better word? Commenting on how the grains in the wooden floorboards are moving, etc. Also a little more explicit in her emotions/thoughts. She might need a minder, any takers?

Since I just have Madeira and she's a Tevinter heavy magic user, she'll probably reach a 2.75! Like Bellatrix Lestrange with a side of Trelawney instead of the other way around, which should be fairly noticeable given her usual reserve.

OSBORN will end up affected big time because he's a veteran Templar. D: I feel like he'd end up somewhere between 2 and 3. Thoughts?

MADDOX and ADAN not so much. Maddox is gonna hide somewhere. Adan is gonna try to help Cas cuz that mage gonna be cray.

Question for apostates! What is the likelihood of them being affected, you think? Atheya probably uses it when she can but probably keeps a small horde on herself to last.

Your call on Osborn! We agree that as a veteran templar he's likely to be one of the most affected. He can still try to do his job while being high as a kite. Even if he's badly impacted, he doesn't have to turn violent - he just has to be severely mentally compromised. ;)

Up to you with Atheya. Anyone buying black market lyrium, though, is even likelier to get Carta-supplied vs. Guild supplied, so she will be impacted if she buys any over the next week.

After mulling over this a bit & planning logs, I think he's gonna be a 2.5 -- mostly Trelawney but with a brief detour into Bellatrix Lestrange! :}
