camp fortitude in character

Sooooo... the fan belt on our jeep is pretty much gonna be toast within a few trips here and I can't really do much without making something else toast in a few trips - so long story short... who wants to go look for vehicle parts with (ETA: Raven) and me?

You ever realize how little you are in the grand scheme of the universe? Smaller than dust particles.

A question for everyone on this lovely Tuesday morning...

I know a few of us have discussed this idea but I figured it's maybe time to bring it forward to everyone as a group to pick away at.

How does everyone feel about starting to leave posters around the places we're hitting up on supply runs with information about the camp, including directions? Obviously there's a pretty big pro tick being that people might be able to find us easier, people who could use a safer place to stay and all that. But then there's the big con tick of we really don't know what's out there and if the wrong thing might be able to read and we've just given it directions as to how to find us.

So... thoughts?

As most of you have probably noticed, the wall that surrounded camp has been lifted. The predator has been dealt with but I still suggest sticking close by unless needed, and to not head out alone. If you need to leave camp check in at the gate so they can let the scouting group know you're out there and make sure you've grabbed a radio too.

Just a heads up for everyone that the thing you probably all just noticed? Don't try to walk through that. If anyone needs to get out of the camp let me know and we can arrange it - I highly suggest no one leave until we've taken care of what's out there. This will keep it from being able to get back in though.

Anyone who wants to help out with taking down that thing - Predator apparently - let's meet up. Community center within the hour good for everyone? Also anyone who's familiar with the movie would be helpful, even if you don't feel like you'd be able to go out and deal with it, we could use any information we can get.

What are your thoughts on drones? I feel like they'd be highly useful and definitely something I can make. I'd just need the parts.

What farming infrastructures need to be built or repaired? I'm not a farmer, but I know machines. Anyone think of making biofuel? Algae?

I feel like a group should go out to Santa Fe. We need medical supplies and I need spare parts.

I was hoping we could meet up tomorrow - does 10:00AM work for everyone in the community center? I'll scrounge up some coffee. We got a lot of people here who want to help out, let's figure out how to make the most of that. We've got a few big things to look after on our end: the supply runs, keeping the gate watched, and ideally we should be getting some people out to hunt nearby to keep up a supply of meat in camp without having to rely on the fickleness of what does and doesn't show up in the stores.

We also need to set up some times for all of us to get some training in - which Sara has offered to help out with. This is not optional. We're no good to the people we're meaning to protect here if we don't have the skills to do so, and the last thing we want is for supply runs to end in rescue missions. Even if you think you know what you're doing it's always good to keep your skills up.

* if your character upon arrival or since arrival has asked to be put in defense or wanting to hunt or go on supply runs, etc. there will be an ooc post tomorrow for this to discuss what everyone is wanting their characters to do so we can start working out a schedule of sorts so we all know what's going on when! :)

I by no means right this moment as I am aware Prompto has just returned and Sam you are headed out in the morning, but I would like to sit down with the three of you at some point after Sam's return. I was informed you three are the longest running members of what constitutes the Camp's defense and I would like to discuss what is already in place and perhaps offer some suggestions as to what might be helpful going forward. My intention is not to step on toes, but I have spent well over half my life helping to keep a kingdom safe, seems remiss to step back from that now just because the scenery might have changed.
