Plot Outline & Teams

THINGS TO NOTE:

• In order to hit multiple locations at once, our villainess of the week (former-and-somewhat-current) HYDRA baddie Candice Lee has scattered various remote boxes connected to the trident from her central location. She is able to control the functions of the trident and the boxes they are connected to from there - hence the floods that occur around the world.

• Candy has sent her henchmen to each location to man the boxes. The henchmen won't be too difficult to take on - they're sort of a dumber offshoot of HYDRA. Think neckbeards and red hats with H.A.T.E. on them which actually stands for 'HYDRA Authoritarian Troop Enforcement' because why the hell not? Destroy the boxes, contain the floods, wipe up spills with paper towels, do whatever you want to the henchmen - there will be plenty for our heroes to fight!

• ENJOY!

Team 3 - Thor, Loki, Asgardians

Despite that, the waves were still rising quickly to either side. This would not be easy to stop, without finding the cause of this unexpected calamity. And one that hadn't even been forecasted, at that. Thor would have known if the weather was turning foul, and Loki helped check the weather reports the night before any of the fishing fleet set sail.

While standing off to one side of the village, with Brunn's loyal rescue dog by his side, Loki looked as though he was trying to think of multiple spells. The waves slapped at the surrounding cliffs as easily as a child would bat around flimsy toys, but the cliffs were tall and steep there, so it wasn't washing ashore as easily. Even so, it wouldn't be long before the ground gave under the water's onslaught.

Thor had been watching Loki's preparations and was suddenly hit with a wave of nostalgia. When was the last time the two brothers had to face down a foe threatening Asgard? Not since Ragnarok, and even before that, perhaps slightly before Loki learned of his true parentage.

He'd missed this.

Extending a hand, he grinned at his brother. "To a successful battle, brother. May we be victorious."

One hand raised to hold a shield spell in place, Loki turned to grasp his brother's wrist and gave his brother an impish smirk, which meant he was more than up to this challenge. He was the most powerful sorcerer in Asgard now...or scientist by Midgardian standards, since Asgardian science and magic were the same. At last, his skills were needed. It was a nice feeling, even if this was a serious matter. It was better to leave Thor to what Thor was good at: protecting Asgard through the skilled use of brute force and sheer determination.

"I've no doubt in our combined capabilities," he replied. Even if Thor was rushing off to find the source of their troubles, he was certain that Thor could brew up a storm around him and push the water away from the other side of the coastline, so he didn't even bother mentioning it. "We will fare better than other places might, even if you're focused on the battle."

Loki let go and sounded like their mother a little bit, mindfully adding, "Do try not to leave a huge mess in your wake?"

“That is the beauty of water,” Thor said, grinning as he raised a hand. “It cleans up all messes.” The artificial storm was slowly being engulfed by a real one, a storm that he could actually control. Nature was tricky, and needed to be rooted in the energies of the world for him to have any semblance of power. This way, he could extend his own magic and take it over.

Which he did.

Knowing that Val had the villagers off to safety, Thor allowed himself the ability to fully unleash upon the invaders. With the wind whipping enthusiastically, Thor lifted Stormbreaker and roared fully, a battle cry that came from deep within. Although he wasn’t close to the tower, he knew that his voice would carry through to strike fear in his enemies’ hearts.

When was the last time he could be as free as he wanted? Wakanda? That was months ago, and in the time between, there’d been nothing.

This was what he lived for.

Launching himself into the air, he flew to the tower, landing suddenly at the very base with a loud thud. An electrified hammer hit the ground, knocking anyone on the first floor off their feet. From there, it was a simple matter of cutting through everyone, knocking them out, punching them, throwing bodies against each other. There was a fair amount of people but no one was a match for an angry Thunder God, protecting his land and people.

The tower was old, and it was in ruins but it was history and in no way was he going to ruin that. He’d started to get nostalgic in his old years, and he wasn’t about to do that to the kind nation that took his displaced people in.

Punches to faces, kicks to legs, hammers to heads, he fought his way to the top, secretly disappointed at how easy it was. While the invaders had anger and hate fueling them, they were still simple Midgardians.

It wasn’t a very fair fight but Thor ensured no one was killed (although they would all be in considerable pain for several days). When he finally got to the top, he peered curiously at the box. It wasn’t anything interesting, in fact, it was kind of boring. Picking it up, he raised his brows before shrugging and effortlessly crushing it between his hands.

The backfired charge entered his hands, feeling no different than the electricity that was already coursing through his veins. What did change though was the atmosphere. Almost instantly, the weather calmed down. Whatever it was controlling went back to normal. Thor could sense the change, that the weather was more natural again. Standing there, on the tower, looking out over the water, the land, his people…

It felt good to defend it.

It felt even better knowing he wasn’t alone.

A decision he’d been ruminating over, that he’d voiced to Jane before … it seemed much clearer, much more the right decision.

It was a good day.
