a variety of reasons i suppose. one, i always finish what i set out to do and this is currently that. two, the thing about prophecies is once you're done fulfilling them you kind of have to go 'well now what' and combined with that is one does get tired of being told you're going to go powerhungry and mad because all the others before you did, and three given that sanctuary has not gotten the same amount of knowledge about my chosen field this is actually the best place for me to expand on my magic.

If I'm in two places at once now -- and I think it's entirely possible at this point that I'm actually in thousands of different places at once thanks to the multiverse -- then there's already a me at home. And that me isn't this me. I could "go home," but would I actually, truly be going home? And the me I am now wouldn't be going back with all this knowledge, because there's likely not two mes at home. Not again at least. And even if there are 10 mes at home, I still wouldn't be the same me I was when I got here. So if I went home, it'd be out of nostalgia and not to pick up where I left off because that me is already living that life. I'd be invading his life and taking it over for selfish purposes. Whereas the me who's here right now may or may not have replaced another me, but he's this me, and I get to live this life and have to trust the me at home is doing his best while I try to do my best here.
