Sorry everyone about the outage tonight, I was caught in a situation where I had zero access to the Internet and of course that is the moment the site decides to act up. Seems Murphy's law is strong these days. Everything is back up and should be ok now.

Sorry we didn't post here about the recent outage. It seems our hosting provider had ANOTHER power outage. This time, our aging servers didn't handle it as well. It took some manual intervention but we are finally back up to a working state. We do apologize for the lack of communication. I am usually better about that, and will do better next time.

For now we are looking into moving the site to a cloud provider. We haven't decided on which one yet but we will communicate when we do. We will ensure that the site is always available and we will be ready to move at a moments notice if we run afoul of any TOS issues.

On the Viewing Options page at the bottom. We have added an option to allow you to receive PMs from anyone. This is an opt in setting that you have to select.

Due to excessive abuse of the private messaging system, we have decided to turn off the ability to send PMs to those who are not mutual friends with. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

We just flipped a switch that should force everything to SSL on the site from now on. This had previously caused an issue with the LJ Juggler plugin, but a new version just went out that should solve that. If you are having issue, please update your plugin to the latest version (5.2.0).

We are hoping that this, once and for all, solves the issue with getting logged out on the comments page.

Hey everyone. I know the site has had some major stability issues as of late. We are working on it. Since we updated the front end of the site, we see to have re-attracted the attention of both spammers and web bots. They are coming in waves and overloading our web servers. We are doing our best to fight them off. We should get back to stability soon.

Hey everyone. I know a lot of you have continued to see frustrations with accessing InsaneJournal. We are aware and have been trying to get this resolved. As part of this, we just made a major swap out of a core component of the site to modernize it and keep up with the latest OS changes that are affecting us.

We hope that this has resolved many of this issues accessing the site.

Hey everyone. We've gotten some reports of issues with the site. We've restarted everything in hopes to resolve this. We haven't been able to duplicate this. Please let us know if you continue to experience issues and please provide some steps to duplicate.

2 days ago we made a change to the systems that send our e-mails. We think this should have had an impact on the issues some of you have had with getting logged out of the site and seeing an insecure page when viewing entries and making comments.

Can you let me know if things have gotten better? If not can you please walk through steps to recreate the issue?
