Hey everyone. I know a lot of you have continued to see frustrations with accessing InsaneJournal. We are aware and have been trying to get this resolved. As part of this, we just made a major swap out of a core component of the site to modernize it and keep up with the latest OS changes that are affecting us.

We hope that this has resolved many of this issues accessing the site.

    Pages appear to be loading a lot faster right now, so at least on my end the changes seem to have made a difference.

      Update: Idk if something happened, but shortly after this the site gave me constant 503 errors, then a 504 Gateway Timeout, and then a "connection to server reset" type error. This began around 5:38PM Central time and lasted about an hour. The site's working again now for me, but it's a bit slow again. Just letting you know, in case something's gone wrong!

    Thank you! So far all good in my group with those who previously had issues and generally it loads a lot faster for me as well :)

    We are aware of the 503 errors. That's what the site sends instead of hanging forever now. That's part of the changes. We are working on tuning things and will probably see instability tonight.

    the site is definitely moving a whole lot faster, even amid the technical errors. still getting the random message about login cookies disappearing after logging in and trying to respond to comments from my email after about 2 to 3 comments going through with no trouble.

    It's likely my ISP, but I was getting 504 errors this morning. took three tries to get to the site.

    So, glitches are still working their way through.

      I don't think it was your ISP. I had the same issue with the site down all night, and when I used an external site to check it said IJ was down for everyone. The site seems to be having some hiccups, probably while squeaky's working out some issues with the changes still.

        It might have been both. I've been having issues with Dish for months now, and this wasn't the only site timing out yesterday (or today either, though IJ hasn't yet.)

          Oh, man, satellite internet is the worst when it comes to reliability/support. Sorry you have to deal with that!

            Yes, yes it is. Unfortunately, it was our only choice where we live.

            Hopefully we can switch to a new local company and have actual streaming capability in the next month.

              Good luck!

              I've been on a local company for a long time because even satellite was oversold to the point they won't offer service here, and I used to be able to stream. Then they changed to LTE, and now I'm struggling to get them to fix it where I don't have throttling so bad I can't even stream 480p without buffering.

              Rural internet problems are so annoying.
