For those of you that use GreatestJournal, we just want you to know that they are back up and accepting accounts again. We hope that you have enjoyed your stay here, and I want you to know that you are welcome to stay if that's what you wish.

If you are going to stay, I want to announce that we are still going to continue with the server upgrade as soon as the new server is ready to go. I am still waiting on my hosting company to hand the server over to me, then it's a few hours of work for me to get it ready to host IJ. We hope to be able to turn the new faster server online either tonight or tomorrow night.

    i think i'm going to stay. there's no doubt that gj will continue having problems.

    i just want to thank you for welcoming us all so warmly. in the day and a half i've been here, i've heard more from you than i have from the gj administrators in over four years, so kudos to being an awesome webmaster. i'll be staying, and i am sure i am not the only one :)

    Well... I'm staying. I like it here. I like that we get told stuff. I like that the person who tells us stuff isn't a condescending pig. I wish I had computer-smarts enough to help out properly, but I don't so I'll just buy perm accounts for myself and friends when I'm not dirt poor :P

    It's safe to say that I will definitely be staying here. It's nice to be part of a site whose administration keeps people up to date. Kudos.

    it's actually my Plan B journal, when things break.

    and since i'm new here - where can i find out how to get my entry pages to look like my main page? can you do that with a free account?

    Even if GJ is working again, [info]age_of_miracles will be making its new home here, and for the first time, we feel really welcome on a journal site. :) The work you folks do is awesome.

    I definitely think I am going to stay. GJ just had to many issues and a lack of communication from the guys in charge. I love the fact you tell us what is going on, so thanks! ♥

    I stopped using my GJ several months ago, it was set up as a default for when the Evol Place went tits up. Originally that's what this one was for as well, but now I'm here more often than not, although I still have an Evoljournal. I like knowing what's going on, even when it's something as minor as a glitch. This place rocks!!

    I'm going to be on both, if that makes sense. I like it here a lot... even if tweak does freak me out sometimes <<;;, but I've been with GJ for years and years and years now and I think I'll stick with it until the bitter end. *nods* But I like it here a lot, as I said, I mean you even *gasp* keep us up to date with things. n_n

    I'm also moving my stuff over here.

    Unfortunately system is not telling the support and abuse team anything (I'm the cdenise on support/abuse threads in news and issues - I've been working on there since 2003). We cannot continue to function like this without updates from the owner. Many of us have taken major abuse from the users due to the fact system is not giving us updates and telling us when something is broken or will be removed.

    This last year has been brutal for us. We are a small team to begin with. Now this week we lost another member bringing it down to 2 members on abuse and 3 on support. 2 of us are on abuse AND support.

    We cannot answer tickets without any information from the site owner. This week made me realize, how did we do this for 4 years being in the dark with site bugs and items being added and removed?

    First of all, can I just say thank you for being so amazing with keeping the lines of communication open between you and your members. I think I speak for almost everyone from GJ when I say that our biggest frustration lies in the fact that we just never know what's going on. When your site has a few rough patches here or there, we know it's due to a traffic influx, or the changing of servers, etc. When GJ has the same situation mass hysteria takes over because we all think we've lost years of writing, memories, etc, since we have absolutely no real communication from our so-called maintainer.

    That all being said, I have a bit of a random question. I know you have a variety of skins/settings for the look and feel of this site available right now, and since I know quite a few GJers are kind of html novices... is there any way we could possibly create/help create/offer up suggestions for other options? This is not to say that the site as a whole is unappealing, because I think it's fantastic, however over at GJ we were sort of spoiled with things like very plain, streamlined settings that are just different colors with a white background sort of thing. You know, the less is more theory.

    I do, love the Tweak Says feature, though. I think it's hilarious and one of the cutest additions I've ever seen to one of these sites.

    Anyway, thank you ahead of time for your response, and don't feel you need to reply or address this idea right away as I know you have a lot of other bigger projects no your plate right now. Keep up the fabulous work!

    They could give us our 1000 icons back and really? Seeing this sort of involvement from you, [info]squeaky? This is what makes a journaling site mean something to me. Not the user pics, not all that. (Although, expect two paid accounts from me, personal and gaming journal) next month when financial aid comes in. I also see you're a WWE fan and that, makes me die inside. :)

    Either way, I'm here. My gamers might or might not all be coming with me, but I know I'm going to stay here. I rather love it already. :)

    So yeah, thank you but I'm definitely going to be posting more here.

    Through the months I have never been more impressed with a journaling service than I have been with IJ, from its reliability beyond stress times like massive exodus days to your continued communication with everyone on this site. This is an excellent place to call an online home and I am so happy to see you welcoming people from any place, but I'm especially grateful that you welcome RPGers.

    As soon as I am able, I'm going to add to the growing chorus of grateful individuals buying paid accounts as a thank you for all your hard work. :D

    My RPG officially moved over here a few weeks before account creation got cut off at GJ, just because of the utter frustration and uncertainty of not knowing what was going on with all the tech issues. It's the best decisions we've made, and we'll be staying. Thanks for everything!

    Honestly, I believed I would never find another journaling site that compared to GreatestJournal. Upon hearing the news of GJ having been basically broken from the start, I lost faith and decided to move over here. Skeptical at first, I have grown to love this site so much within the few days I've been here. The fact that you actually connect with your members and reply to them makes this place even more amazing. I, as well as some friends, are definitely glad we came over here. It's amazing! Thank you!

    You're doing a GREAT job, squeaky!! Thank you for taking refugees like us. I'm from LJ and I don't think I'll be staying there very long. However, I heard that GJ is also going down hill? Why are they closing? Anyway, I will be getting your "permanent account" soon. Thank you so much for all your hard work.

    Hi squeaky. Is there any way you could set the announcements page to default to the old comment page? Every time I try to view comments in the s2 style I get this error:

    Error running style: Style code didn't finish running in a timely fashion. Possible causes:
    * Infinite loop in style or layer
    * Database busy
