For those of you that use GreatestJournal, we just want you to know that they are back up and accepting accounts again. We hope that you have enjoyed your stay here, and I want you to know that you are welcome to stay if that's what you wish.

If you are going to stay, I want to announce that we are still going to continue with the server upgrade as soon as the new server is ready to go. I am still waiting on my hosting company to hand the server over to me, then it's a few hours of work for me to get it ready to host IJ. We hope to be able to turn the new faster server online either tonight or tomorrow night.

    I definitely plan on staying over here from now on. You actually inform your users and try to fix things perminantly and not just put a little band aid on big things

    I have to admit, I was skeptical about this site at first. I guess I was too used to the non-communcation at gj! But after being here just a couple of days and seeing how the site admin is actually involved with answering issues and getting things taken care of, ij has won me over! I think my rpg characters have finally found a good home, and that means so much to me. So, thank you, thank you, thank you!

    I have to agree with everyone else here. Like someone else said, I'm also used to a lack of communication, so signing on here and seeing regular updates is just absolutely mindblowing in an awesome way. Keep up the fantastic work, and thanks for being so welcoming.

    I, for one, am certainly staying =D InsaneJournal is great; it was great back when I first joined, and it's even better now, as one of the so very rare FUNCTIONING journal sites!

    Congrats for the further, constant announcements =D It's nice to hear from the administration, for once.

    [info]squeaky, you have to be, by far, the best administrator of a site that I've ever had the honor of encountering over the internet. Not only are you polite and well-spoken, you clearly care about your users and are up-front about any issues that have arisen in the few days since I've been here. The grace with which you have accepted all of us GJ 'refugees' is just mind-boggling and I want to truly and sincerely thank you, from the bottom of what was quickly becoming a jaded heart.

    For those reasons, as well as many others, I have zero intention of leaving InsaneJournal for any reason, least of all to return to another blogging site. This is going to be my home away from home from now until the end of my blogging days. :)

    2. With all the...issues with communication with LJ and GJ (and I'm sure other issues as well) I can't help but wonder how many more people are going to come here, because the communication line is quite open. I know that I appreciate that if the site goes down or if there are problems that become known, there is a post afterwards explaining why, and what was/is being done to fix the issue on the main page. I think the open lines of communication here are what sets this blogging site apart from the others, so I'm hoping they stay that way as the site grows (unfortunately I'm a bit 'once bitten, twice shy and all that').

    Anyway, thanks again for being so open with what's going on.

    I came over in the last migration, and I have to say, I'm SO happy I did. I left IJ for GJ, and when they began having so many problems and just taking away features without any explanation, I came here. If I were one of the new refugees, I know I'd have appreciated the warm welcome here; even having been established here for a while, I'm proud! I'm not going back to LJ or GJ, and I've got the perm account to show it!

    Happy to hear about the new server; I noticed the lag and random proxy errors, but everything is smooth sailing right now. Thanks for all your hard work Squeaky!

    Also, watchin' announcements for another Black Friday-ish sale...yahoo! [eyebrow waggle]

    I hope you realize insanejournal is now the new RPG site. Hah. And we're a crazy bunch. Is there anything in the works about getting rid of the 100 friend limit? A lot of RPGs have more than 100 characters and it's not like we can pick and chose who we friend.

    Squeaky, I have a question. I know that some layouts were stripped of customization when the server work was done yesterday, but as it takes me a while to work with the colour codes, I'm hesitant to redo my layouts before the new servers are implemented within the next few days. Is there any way to know if the same thing will happen to the layouts when the new servers are added?

    By the way, I'm enjoying the site very much. I'm so amused by some of the things Tweak says that I refresh the page constantly.

    I am staying. The service here is better as opposed to gj. Also it offers more then either lj or cj.

    Squeaky, you've already done more for us in a few days than System and GJ in general did for us over the last several years. I can't speak for everyone, but I thank you and I'm staying. I may not be happy about the move in general, but I'm hoping it works for the best and that I've found a new home.

    thank you so much for everything, seriously, i don't think you realize how important it really is to have someone who communicates with you on everything, when we were lucky to get a scrap of a vague detail on gj. my only question is why is it that youtubes don't work when embedded in entries? am i doing something wrong?

    Staying! Though, I have to ask; are there any possible plans to add a color scheme customizer like GJ has? A couple of my friends are afraid of the grey. :D

    Staying because of support for OpenID. Only a few days here and I am permanently insane!
