Comment Thread (Incomplete!)
Who: Lily and Alice
When: Backdated to the 26th
Where: Lily & James' home in Godric's Hollow
What: Lily and Alice are unable to risk their safety for Dumbledore's patronus, so they fret together over the state of the world and war.
Rating: PG-13, maybe, for talk of unpleasant things
Dumbledore's patronus was far too ominous and distressing. James left immediately, the urgency in Dumbledore's tone having shook them both. Lily hated this. She hated feeling so trapped and useless, even though she knew that it was no longer just her own life at stake. The baby was more important now, it had to be her primary focus, but it didn't stop Lily from wishing she was out there with the others. One more person could save one more life. One more person could make all the difference. Instead she was pacing about her kitchen, worrying about everyone and everything and what You Know Who's cocked up brain had decided was the appropriate response to Millicent Bagnold's very nearly taunting public statement. Lily hated to admit it, but the woman was asking for it. A statement was all well and good, but such a display after a failed attack on her life? It could only make You Know Who more determined to bring her down.
What would it be? Torture? Mass murder? Likely both, Lily supposed, and the thought made her shudder. She couldn't stand being alone any more. Her thoughts were taking her over and exhausting her--while dueling and the threat of death were bad for her pregnancy, going insane with worry couldn't be much better. Lily went over to the fireplace and tossed floo powder in, saying "Alice and Frank's!" as she stuck her head into the green flames. "Alice? Are you home?" she asked once the world righted itself again, glancing about. Alice was in the same position, and perhaps feeling more helpless than Lily, what with being an auror and working with the DMLE. Better they sit in misery together than suffer through it alone.
