"Me too," Lily lamented in a quiet voice. She was quiet for a few minutes, and before she knew what was happening, Lily was on the brink of tears. "It's not fair. I'm not ready to do this, Alice. I'm not. I'm supposed to be out there with the rest of them, taking down bad guys, making a difference. It's not fair that I can't contribute, and that I'm bringing a baby into this mess. I'm. I'm only twenty for goodness sake. Some days being a mother frightens me more than the war does." Everything came spilling out of Lily like word vomit, and before she could stop herself. Everything had been building up inside of her since she found out she was pregnant, all the things she didn't want to tell James because she didn't want him to worry, or so he couldn't confirm the same sorts of fears, though Lily didn't doubt for a moment that he had them. The copius amounts of baby accessories in their home were more than enough proof that James was at a loss of what to do.
