Alice laughed lightly, following behind Lily. "Oh, I'm so glad Frank's not that far gone, yet." They were both thrilled, of course, but they were taking things slowly. They had a crib, and were still talking about what color to paint the baby's room, but they hadn't even bought baby clothes yet.
"But he absolutely refuses to let me do anything this Friday," she added. At least that would be something to look forward to, with these dreadful times. Her birthdays with Frank were some of the best days she'd ever had. She only hoped nothing would ruin this weekend.
Alice sat at the table, waiting patiently for the tea. "And he keeps hovering, just waiting for the baby to kick. He doesn't want to miss a thing."
