Caroline was very excited that her best friend was coming for a sleepover but she was really nervous too. She wished that she hadn’t mentioned that she needed to tell Trinity something. She had done it so she wouldn’t chicken out but now there was all sort of pressure.

She sighed and paced around the room waiting for her friend to arrive. She had forgotten that they were going to Hogsmeade the next day. Hopefully Trinity would bring along what she needed and they could just go down to the Great Hall together. Maybe they could even hang out a bit tomorrow too!

That was assuming, Trinity didn’t react poorly to what she had to tell her…

Caroline had been sure that they would have they needed for a proper sleepover. She’d made a stop by the kitchens to ask for some snacks and such for her and Trinity. When she’d gotten to the room, she found the table was covered with more snack then they could eat in a month.

There was lots of ice cream too, as she requested, in charmed containers so that it wouldn’t melt.

Dressed in pink flannel pjs, covered with little white kittens, Caroline’s hair was pulled into pigtails as she felt that was the perfect outfit for a sleepover. It was, wasn’t it?! She had piles of blankets on her bed so they could both sleep on it but weren’t really sharing a bed in case Trinity didn’t want to like they had when they were younger.

Anxiously, she waited for her friend to arrive. Luckily, her roommates were all elsewhere and likely wouldn’t be back until late if they came back at all.

Caroline couldn't wait to get out of the house. It was only because she was meeting a respectable Pureblood witch that her mother allowed her to go at all. She had gotten wind of her meeting Lucy Weasley in Diagon Alley; Caroline's mother had not been pleased at all.

And for what? Caroline blew out a disgusted sigh. She didn't even want to think about it.

Dressed in an outfit she had gotten for Christmas, Caroline wore a pair of elegant black wool slacks, a white silk blouse and long leather trenchcoat. Her hair was up in a French braid.

Arriving and Gringotts, she waited at the bottom of the stairs for Evangeline. After a moment, she forgot that she needed to get some money. Having a withdrawal slip from her mother, she went and got a bit of spending money before going back to wait at the bottom of the long, stone steps that lead up to the goblin bank.

What: Caroline is meeting Lucy after she missed their plan to go to the Yule Ball “stag” but together.

Caroline had wrestled with the idea of whether she would actually meet Lucy or not. Despite having said she would before she left school, Lucy had second thoughts piled on second thoughts.

When Lucy had come to sleep over, it seemed like she was interested in Caroline. However, she hadn’t given Caroline much of a reason to think she was interested after that.

Caroline wanted not to be interested, it was much safer, but she was no matter how she tried to deny it. As she sat at home, she realized that she was tired of being lonely. That was why she’d been crushing so hard on people this year.

But, did that mean that she should risk…well, everything? Maybe she should find a Muggle girl and be sure to hide everything away?

Eventually, she decided to meet Lucy and see how things went. If she got the brush off again, she would be done with her. It wasn’t that she was angry, she was hurt by the idea that Lucy might not be interested and refused to be one of those girls who begged for someone’s attention.

Nervously, and anxiously, Caroline stood in front of the ice cream parlour a bit pigeon toed. She wore a black wool coat that was long and elegant. Her hair was down and blew lightly in the cold breeze. Charcoal slacks and a matching green angora sweater completed her outfit with a pair of black leather boots.

Chewing her bottom lip, she looked around for Lucy hoping that she wasn’t about to be stood up again…

Caroline paced up and down the hall in front of Professor Slughorn’s classroom. Luckily, as yet, no one had seen her so know one had asked what she was doing there. Lucy’s name would stay out of any excuse she gave; her name was lower than mud with most Slytherins because of her activism.

What was it with Gryffindor girls and her lately?

Hopefully this wouldn’t be as awkward as it had been with Alex…

That thought alone was almost enough to send her running. They were both Gryffindors…

But, Lucy seemed…different. Though she was radical, by Pureblood standards, she wasn’t crass like Alex was.

Wearing a long black skirt, with matching black knee-high socks, a large and loose fitting charcoal angora sweater and her school cloak, she wore her hair up in a loose ponytail.

Would Lucy even come? Caroline began to wonder if she was the only one having second thoughts…

Caroline couldn’t believe that she was actually meeting up with Alex. Why had she penned that note to Alex in her journal to meet her? Why did Caroline actually go to the meeting place?

It was a bad idea in almost every way. Caroline, after the disturbing encounter in the Prefect’s Bathroom where Alex had offered to snog her, she had wrestled with the idea of taking her up on it and burying herself in a hole for the rest of the year.

It also didn’t help that Alex seemed to purposefully trying to cheese-off every Pureblood elite and Slytherin in the entire school. It would have done bad things for her reputation, one that had been recovering better than she ever could have hoped, to be seen with her.

Caroline thought of Lucy Weasley and buried all thoughts of her immediately…

So, here she was; in the abandoned classroom and waiting for Alex to arrive. She had picked a night she had rounds, so she was in her perfectly pressed uniform with Prefect badge glimmering silver with a hint of emerald green in the torch light. Her hair was pulled back in a pretty ponytail and her make up was applied lightly and subtly.

The bottle of firewhiskey, the whole reason for meeting up, was sitting in a small shoulder bag that was hidden under a slightly-desiccated desk. The room wasn’t the most attractive, it had a bit of left over furniture and a generally moist quality to the air that had caused it to be abandoned in the first place as a catastrophic accident years before Harry Potter attended Hogwarts…

Caroline tapped the feather of her quill against her lips softly as she stared down at the book in front of her. She was working on an essay for History of Magic but wasn't making much headway, despite appearances. She had six books open around her as she scribbled a line or two from time to time before swapping to another book.

She was still terribly distracted. It hadn't helped that she had seen Oswald this morning and he had given her a dreadful glare before making some crass comment about her to his friends, too low for her to hear.

Worse yet, she was still horrible conflicted about Isabella and Alex and how to interact with either of them. She was meeting Isabella tomorrow and needed to get her head on straight. There was a boy she liked, that was the end of it. Or so she kept telling herself…

Working away, she didn't pay too much attention to the other students wandering around until a shadow fell across her books and caused her to look up.

Summary: The group meets up in the Great Hall before heading off to Hogsmeade. There they are going to hang out, visit shops, and celebrate January's birthday. At some point they will meet up with Rose and Scorpius.


Piper glanced around the Great Hall quickly. There was no one in sight. Well, no one that she was waiting for any how. She was waiting for January or Isabella. Although, she was sure Isabella had recruited more people, since she said she was going to. Since she was a little early any how, she leaned against the wall and waited.

The scene was one typical of a Hogsmeade weekend. There were many students, all third years and up of course, gathering to find their friends and be allowed out of the castle. Piper rather liked Hogsmeade weekends because they were allowed out of Hogwarts for once. It allowed a chance to escape the drama and homework of the place. Also, it was a place where so many distinctions were not made based strictly on which house you belonged to.

Reaching into her pocket, her hands brushed against a tiny vial she had placed there. It was the sleeping potion she had made for Isabella. It was finally ready. Yet, she was unsure if she wanted to give it to her. In her mind she was enabling her to use magic to avoid dealing with her problems. She sighed heavily.

At least the storm had died down. The weather was still a bit windy and overcast, but it was no longer raining. Piper was glad for that. Other than the dreariness it was a nice day. Storms were never her favorite thing she so was glad it was over.

Piper ran a hand through her long chestnut locks fighting the urge to check her watch. She was still sure she was early, but she was impatient. It was something she could not deny. So, she stood there and waited for the rest of the group to show up...

Isabella wrinkled her nose as she walked into the library. The air smelled of dust and musky old books. One would think as many times as she had been in the library, it was practically her second home at Hogwarts, she would get used to the smell. She never did. After a while she adjusted to it, but she never got to the point where she did not notice it. It was just part of what made the library, the library.

Quietly, she made her way to a vacant table. In one fluid motion she slung her bag off her shoulder and onto the table. It made a loud thud and caused several students to look in her direction. She had interrupted them. Isabella ignored their stares.

There were a few things on her mind. The main thing was the annoyance of having potions in an empty class room. Surely, they could practice potions any where really, but it had not made Professor Slughorn in an agreeable mood. As a result, they had been assigned a long report.

"Honestly..." Bella grumbled to herself as some first year students passed by contemplating some simple assignment. They were being louder than necessary.

With a shake of her head, Bella slipped into a chair and pulled out her potions book. She propped it open and started reading. After a few sentences her attention span waned and she started watching the other students in the library. There was not much to see other than people reading, working, or chatting quietly.

The topic of the day seemed to focus on McGonagall's speech the night before. It was the same typical stuff," Don't believe the fliers... Muggle bashing is strictly forbidden...Punishments will be handed out... ect, ect, ect." Stuff they had all heard before. Stuff that some disregarded. But, she was sure she had to say that any how.

Propping her elbow on the table, Isabella rested her chin in her palm. She kept watching the flurry of movement from the people around her. Her thoughts would continue to wander until she was interrupted...
