Aislin was doing her very best to keep busy, and it had been working rather nicely so far. She'd only cried once today and she'd managed to get away before anyone had even seen her break down. She was determined to start getting over the breakup... she couldn't keep on bursting into tears every time she saw Joe, regardless of if he was with another girl or alone.

For the first time in what seemed like forever, she was sitting in the Great Hall instead of hiding in her room. A half finished essay sat in front of her, along with a few books and a pair of Wesley's underpants that she had been gluing sequins on to earlier. Smiling slightly, she shook her head and tried to focus on her finishing her essay. The noise in the hall was distracting in a good way, and she was partially hoping that someone would come along to distract her even further. Essay writing wasn't doing a very good job of it.

Summary: A group of studenst sneak out of Hogwarts to attend Aberforth's birthday party in the Hogshead.

With the sky already turning a deep, dark colour, Albus walked the path to Hogsmeade alone, his green eyes bright and scanning the surrounding area with a usual parinoia that was so characteristic of him. 

It wasn't as if he'd never snuck out before, but often it was just to be alone, as one could get tired of the bustle in Hogwarts. The fall weather was pleasant, mostly, and early in the year, he'd just walk ahead, untill he was sick or parinoia snuck up on him. 

He was looking forward to attending a party with his friends, seeing most of his family. There was also somesort of thrill that came from sneaking out at night, breaking the rules. He was never really a stickler, and enjoyed living outside set boundaries. It was almost freeing, in a way, but he wouldn't make a habit of it. He was less interested in being a rebel than the stereotypical teenager. That was freeing as well.

Albus slipped his hands into his pockets as he waited for the others to show up. He looked up at the sky. By the time they got back to Hogwarts, it would already be dark, he thought absently. His mind wander aimlessly, until he focused it on why he'd come out in the first place. To tell the truth, he was actually looking forward to it. The company was good (Louis was hilarious, Rose and January was witty as anything), and Aberforth was a good man who should be celebrated. Hopefully, the others would show soon so they could all get going.

Summary: Isabella meets with Piper outside the library (to minimize the chance they will be overheard, in theory any how) to discuss a prior arrangement. The conversation does not go as planned and leads to a minor disagreement.


Isabella stuck her head out of the library door to make sure that there was no one around. The casual passing student did not bother her. After all, it could not look to suspicious two friends meeting in the library before parting ways. Her meeting with Piper was not going to take long. Just a quick exchange.

"Come on Pip." Isabella said gently as she tugged her friend out into the hallway. "What are you so worried about?"

Isabella raised her eyebrows slightly sensing an uneasy feeling radiation from her friend. Honestly she could not see why she was so uncertain. Either way, Isabella was careful to keep her expression and tone of voice light. She did not want to to come across that she was desperate for Piper's sleeping potion she had made for her. The reality was she was desperate. She had not slept in almost a week and she wanted at least one day of sleep. The quality of her schoolwork was starting to slip and she could not allow that.

Of course, she knew what Piper was going to say, she was going to say she needed to deal with her problems without magic. So cliche. Even though a part of her wanted to admit that the girl was right. It had helped the other night when she had talked to Albus, but she did not want to keep imposing on him; even if he was more than willing to talk to her. The truth was she was afraid to let him in any further or anyone else in at all.

"I promise I won't ask you again. Just this one..." Isabella's blue eyes pleaded softly with her friend. "I just need one night of sleep."
