Who: Ella and Isabel What: Job Interview When: Monday, February 6th Where: The Experience's Downtown Office Rating: PG-13 at the most, I imagine Status: Incomplete
Ella had only just arrived in town, but she found herself already sitting in a posh office waiting for an interview. She'd been lucky to find the listing on the internet the day after her arrival, and having given a call that morning, she was granted an interview that afternoon. She was nervous. Foreign place, foreign people, foreign business. But she was educated to be a manager, she could handle it. She was sure of it.
She uncrossed and re-crossed her legs, fidgeting with her fingers in her lap while she waited. This was quite possibly the worst part of the interview process. The waiting. She glanced back up but the receptionist seemed absorbed in something else and either didn't feel Ella's eyes on her or she didn't care. She blew out a breath and tugged at the hem of her skirt once more.
She was dressed nicely, in a dark gray pencil skirt with a snug white blouse. The blouse was a little frilly for her taste, but it had been one of the first things she'd pulled from her suitcase and it still looked nice and professional. A pair of dark hose and black heels completed the ensemble, but didn't do anything to make her stand out. She had a reputation for being plain, but she was starting to think that maybe with her new life she ought to make some changes.
She sighed again and stared at the door she was certain her potential employer would poke her head out of at any moment.
