Most of it wasn't terribly interesting to Isabel. Good information to have, of course, but nothing she could really work with. It felt a bit like a bulleted list to her, but like the blush? She was encouraged by the very last thing she'd said.
Yes. Ella would do very nicely.
"Well, Ella, working for me will take you places you would have never imagined for yourself," Isabel said, "I have a very strong brand, and there's always something for you to be doing. I'm going to be honest with you, Ella," she was able to say it with a straight face, of course, "I think you'd be a perfect fit for this job."
She stood again, offering her hand, "When can you start?"
It was probably the briefest, weirdest interview of this human's life, but Isabel liked it that way. She wanted to keep her guessing, keep her scrambling for purchase. Isabel did enjoy having the upper hand, after all.
And just to make sure she would accept?
"If you still want the job, of course," she raised her eyebrows, already knowing her answer, but wanting to hear her say it anyway.
