First, I bring you crossdressing!Booster,

Please Gladys, I'm begging you! )

And secondly, a scan from the pages of Suicide Squad. I read this and wondered what was the deal with Deadshot and Batman, so I thought I'd ask this com.

High School Drama in every possible sense of the word
Crossdressing week, eh? I have just the thing. Have a few pages of W-Juliet, my personal favourite gender-bending high school rom-com. Brought to you by Japan! The only nation who would produce enough gender-bending high-school rom-coms for it to be considered a genre in it's own right!

Jimmy rocks that pink mini, don't you think?

This site delves into Jimmy's long history of crossdressing for business and pleasure. The best part? Superman's Favorite Transvestite, Jimmy Olsen, by Fred Hembeck. Here, have a sample:

Yes, yes. Two posts in row, I know. Shush. Did you guys happen to notice that we now have over one thousand members? Yes, that's right,

Good Charlotte...but not the band. Possibly NSFW.
Okay, I would like to apologize beforehand to the community and mods if this doesn't apply for the community - it's my first time to post here in this version of S_D.

Anyway, I'd like to introduce you to how Japan can manage to mangle stereotypes, and then keep it part of their culture, resulting in WTF-ery that made me giggle like a school girl.

Interesting thing, though, is that both are by nature with masculine traits, totally jarring with the feminine overtones. It's like Danny the Street from Doom Patrol, or the Village People.

edit: tried to use RT entry system, all link tags got wiped out. References as follows: onepiece.wikia.com, bleach.wikia.com. was able to restore links, though..

Transient Son by Shimura Takako
I started reading this on a whim and it turned out to be the best darn thing I've read for months, maybe even years.
Transient Son (Houro Musuko)(or Wandering Son) by Japanese cartoonist Shimura Takako is the story about Shuichi Nitori, a gradeschool boy coming to terms with transexuality, gender identity and puberty.

No fetishization, no gimmickry. Just...

A whole lot of heartwrenching. )
