Doctor Who: Return to Vortis
A return of a lost post. This comes from issue #55 of the New Zealand Doctor Who zine Time Space Visualiser. TSV contains the standard mix of news, reviews, articles and fiction in 80+ A5 pages, including a mix of both ongoing and standalone strips that range from regulation action adventure to the heart breakingly whimsical. This particular one is an 8th Doctor story sequelling the 1st Doctor story Web Planet, done as a pastiche of Beowulf.

So some OTHER scans_daily support that hasn't been reported yet is from Naomi Novik and Justin Pierce. Naomi Novik is not a comic writer, but she does write a fantastic series called Temeraire and has recently put the entire first novel online for fans to read at http://naominovik.livejournal.com/37981.html.

It's Comic Relief this Friday!
All over Britain, celebrites and not-so-celebrities are humiliating themselves for charity. Some went up Mount Kilimanjaro. Someone somewhere will undoubtedly sit in a bath of baked beans. Robert Webb has flashdanced in a shiny lycra leotard.
