*is ridiculously excited about seeing Elrond again, though he feels the tiniest bit guilty not to have told anything about this to his own parents (who are just happy that he's taking a nice girl to the dance)*
*is nervous about meeting CelebrÃan for the first time, having heard so much about her from her children and from growing up in a home in which her presence lingered long after her departure*
*stands on the front doorstep, bouncing slightly on the balls of his feet as he waits for the door to be opened* |

*has also not figured out how to break the news that a senior BOY boy will be picking her up for said dance, given the fact that she has previously shown no interest in dances and no boys have previously collected her for any*
*opts for uber-casual* *grabs a soda from the fridge and passes by her dad's study on her way back upstairs* So I'm going to the dance tonight! Be back not too late!

*has had an incredibly busy week, between proposing to his girlfriend, finding out she's already married, and oh yes, remembering another lifetime (in which he was not an actor) (in which he really did kick a lot of ass)* *actually, busy may not even be the word, but he doesn't have anything comparable to go on*
*in the days following his and Ethan's crash memory recall, stops in to see Amarië and informs her that he's taking an emergency leave of absence* *isn't really surprised when she seems unimpressed by the revelation that he's Elrond Peredhel's son, but thinks she might be a tiny bit impressed when he doesn't fidget or blush even once (she didn't fire him on the spot, anyway)* *also spends a day at his Órë-parents' house wow that's a strange way to think of them, explaining and re-explaining and reassuring the Burkholders that he's still their son, even if he remembers being someone else's, too*
*is in no way prepared for the next part when he and Ethan (and Jason the interpreter) step off the train in Delving, duffels hastily packed and Internet directions in hand* *waits until they're all packed into a taxi before wriggling around to sign to his brother* We're sure they aren't on vacation? |

*having been officially kicked out of the Fountain on leave, is crashing in Menegroth with Elrond and his family* *has brought along his laptop so he can keep up with his schoolwork, but aside from that, is content to sleep, doze, and lounge away the long weeks of triple-duty* *is really too used to living alone, though—accidentally walked in on Celebrían changing clothes the second morning* *oops*
*three nights in, has apparently rested enough to allow his subconscious free rein once more* *or maybe it's just been biding its time (it's been at least two weeks since he last died in his sleep, after all)*
*jerks awake out of a sound slumber, his pulse slamming against his ribs, breath stuck in his throat* *spends a good three or four minutes sitting bolt-upright in bed, staring at the clock (1:17am... 1:18am... 1:19am), before he pushes back the covers and stumbles out of the guest room*
*quietly wanders down to the kitchen for a glass of water, and once he's there, begins seriously entertaining thoughts of just staying up until it's time to put the coffee on for his hosts* *doubts he'll be getting back to sleep any time soon* |

*flops around the house for a while before eventually getting permission to call Gondolin* *dials up Erestor to say hi* |

*has his agent forward any mail that's collected, to his mother's* *is fairly cheered to find a picture in the pile*
*on instinct, decides to call Elrond, then waits nervously hesitantly as the phone rings* |

*leaves Darryl's apartment, freshly showered and put back together for the walk home* *on the plus side, Darryl looks good in and out of those generic scrubs (and taking it from a conscientious nurse means he's not any more sore now than he was before)* *on the minus side, hasn't done the casual sex thing in... well, it's been a while*
*gets back to his place and fetches a beer before settling down in the recliner* *drinks half the bottle in silence* *finally digs out his mobile and scrolls down to a number he's already added to the phonebook (Nichols)* *calmly and politely (and easily?) sets up an appointment to talk to the good headshrinker*
*that done, plans to drink the rest of his beer and try to squeeze in a nap* *figures he might at least get a cumulative seven hours, and that'll have to count* |
