He came from New York city man, but he couldn't take the pace.
Characters: Danny, Jessica Jones
Setting: Late night/early morning on 2/1, outside Professor Wing's brownstone
Content: Nothing questionable
Summary: Danny confronts the woman who's been spying on him.
It was a chilly night, not as bad as it could've been, but Danny still made regular trips to the all night diner a few blocks up for coffee to help keep himself warm. Pacing helped, too, when his butt got numb, and eventually he started doing yoga to pass the time because no one was around and it wasn't the weirdest thing to do outside in the dark anyway. He alternated between that, lounging on a stoop, staring at his phone, and pacing again for a few hours, but aside from his coffee breaks he never left his post on the stoop across the street from Professor Wing's home. Until, abruptly, he did.
A coffee break came just after midnight, but the usual five minutes he took passed, and then another, before he was clambering up the fire escape of a building down the block from the Professor's, trying to make enough noise to announce his arrival. Danny had marked the woman spying on him a few days before, and he'd waited for an attack but none ever came. All she did was watch him and take pictures, and he wasn't hiding anything, so he just let her do her thing. Except here she was, another night in, watching him watch a building. Even the most dedicated paparazzo wouldn't stick around this long for pictures of him doing literally nothing. It was time to get to the bottom of this and figure out what this woman wanted from him. And, most importantly, who was behind whatever this was.
On his post-midnight coffee run he picked up an extra cup and a couple slices of cheesecake to go from the display by the register. He went around the back of the buildings on Lee's street until he came to the one where the photographer had set up, and then approached silently, only making noise when he purposefully rattled the ladder so he wouldn't spook her by just popping up. A cardboard carrier with the coffees and cheese cake came out of the hole onto the landing first, and Danny's head and shoulder's followed suit, as he pushed it towards her. "Hi there. Danny Rand. Thought I'd introduce myself since I've been seeing a lot of you lately," he smiled wryly, conversational and apparently at ease (though he was ready to drop back down if she tried to lash out at his head).
