"Hey! Hang on-" he protested, watching her escape with a resigned frown. In his experience, someone running when he wasn't offering a fight didn't bode well for their intentions. Maybe there was more to this than he'd thought, maybe it was worse than he'd thought. Danny sighed and shot a mournful look at coffees and cake. Guess he'd have to come back for them. Danny hauled himself all the way onto the platform, then up onto its rail, gazing up the side of the building. It'd be faster for him to just scale it than to try to follow her directly, and he was less likely to get kicked in the head that way, too. Danny just hoped nobody saw and called the cops.
He jumped across to a window, and then ascended using window ledges and wall cracks, more concerned with making it to the roof than with checking on her progress on the stairs. Hoisting himself over the roof's edge, he dove forward into a controlled roll and came out on his feet. Danny glanced around towards the fire escape to see if she was still on her way or already up and still running.
