Time it took us-
Characters: Wanda, Tony
Setting: New York City and then time travel adventure
Content: Time travel adventure and gore.
Summary: Nick left something important in Wanda's care and now that something is going haywire so she calls in an expert for help.
This wasn't good, not at all. Wanda had a secret, well a few secrets, but one of them was Fury's which he had sprung on her with strange and vague instructions before his trial even began. It hadn't seemed like much at the time, weird to teleport a giant machine out of S.H.I.E.L.D. but essentially she was just acting as a moving service and storage. Given the way the trial had gone she could see how there were things that Nick Fury wouldn't want the new management to get their hands on and she was more loyal to Nick than she was to S.H.I.E.L.D. Wanda owed Nick everything.
So she fulfilled his small request and brought the secret machine ("What is it?" "Don't worry." "Can it hurt me?" "...Don't worry.") with little trouble and only a few questions. One of those was where exactly he expected her to put it but not only did he have no answer for that but he wanted none- apparently it was better if he didn't know. So Wanda put it in a secret place and left it alone.
It turned out that just leaving the bizarre device alone was not a good tactic. Wanda learned that when she swung by her secret Brooklyn loft to check on it when she got back into New York after the trial to find the circular metal frame crackling with energy. That wasn't a good development at all. The thing wasn't even plugged in which brought her to the conclusion that it had its own power source that a glance at the controls told her she was not going to be able to turn off. Fabulous. This was exactly what she wanted to handle today.
With Nick gone and this thing supposed to be a secret there was a really short list of people she could call for help on this one and she knew better than to try to fix it herself. Things would probably get worse in that case before they got better. Magic was her area, not science. Science was, however, someone else's area and after struggling with the thought for awhile she broke down and called him for help.
