"I knew about that one," she answered and her smile returned. "Can't say I necessarily believe it, but no one's going to deny he's a good shot." This was a welcome change in subject but now she was mulling over Tony's conjecture. If Nick had wanted her to actually do something for him he could have maybe been less vague about it, given her a little more to go on. There could have been some grand plan but, if there was, Wanda had no idea what her part in it was. Tony had at least had the LMD's. Wanda was clearly just a magical storage shed and moving truck. That knowledge left a bitter taste.
Tony's idea was much nicer, that Fury had entrusted her with more than just transportation and there was some quest, some important task, she was supposed to fulfill for him. The machine had brought them here, specifically, hadn't it? Maybe it wasn't just a random fluke, if it was all preprogrammed then then they- or at least she was meant to be here. Wanda was feeling a stirring of confidence. It didn't matter where or when she was, she was the Scarlet Witch, she could get this done. Whatever this was, anyway.
"If this is the answer, I don't want to know the question," she joked, but looked thoughtful. "All right so we're here. In a desert. But what's here and where's here?" The wind and the sand were dying down a little but Wanda still couldn't see much out there, not that there was going to be anything to see aside from sand dunes.
