Although she rolled her eyes she returned his smirk with an indulgent shake of her head. Tony wasn't terrified at all, he was in his element, a kid in a candy store. With all his responsibilities as Iron Man, at the office, his projects, his constant crusade to fix the whole damn world it was easy to forget that Tony Stark was, first and foremost, and adventurer. He thrived on this kind of thing, exploring the unknown so he could quantify and calculate and solve then move on to the next great adventure. This whole foray into no man's land definitely fit the bill. Her smile didn't fade as she watched him, watching her, and at his next (less cheeky and non-rhetorical) question she shook her head.
"No, Clint and I are still in Manhattan. Brooklyn's just a place I keep." She paused, wondering how she was even supposed to explain that place she kept since she'd never had to before but Tony, she figured, was the sort of person who likely kept a lot of places. "For when I need to be alone," was the way she finished up and it was mostly true. Bringing strangers to the loft always left her feeling even more isolated so she might as well have been alone there. Not that she'd be bringing anyone there again anytime soon. "And store extra dimensional portals," she added blithely.
