Find the Horcruxes (ooc)

Okay, so any of you who've worked retail know that this week is going to be madness for me. I'm going to be making a quick trip to see my parents for Thanksgiving and then coming right back to work some really long and probably grueling hours for the next week or so.

SO, this is my hiatus notice (which I should have posted a couple of days ago, really, because the long days have already started). I'll still be available by email, and I'll probably even be on AIM in the middle of the night - basically I'm just letting y'all know that my brain may be checked out entirely for a few days and I may not be good for much.

So tonight was the murder and framing of Diana Goodwin, courtesy of Dylan, Marcus and Isidore.

Sadly, we're all made of fail so there is no log. ;.; But to basically let you all know what happened:

Isidore worked on the wards to get them down, there was also a spell placed around so no one would know what was really going on. Like.. a silencing charm, or one of those charms that disguises something to look a different way. Once they were down, Dylan knocked on the door, pretending to be a concerned neighbor trying to get Pepper-up Potion for his sick daughter (bahaha). And once Miss Goodwin was in clear view, Marcus threw the Imperius. They all headed inside, and while she was still under the Imperius, they had her cut her own wrists, and strategically placed the file in the room, making sure to get her fingers on it. Then, when they left, they put the wards back up so to look like there was no break-in at all.

What the DMLE would eventually find: A woman who slit her wrists after looking through the file of James Noone's werewolf registry who was killed last night with his wife in his own house.

There was supposed to be a DP article up this morning, but I got distracted last night and haven't written it yet. Probably it'll be going up shortly (and it'll've been the "morning edition"), but just in case:

the article will be announcing that Castor Hale went to trial yesterday & was convicted of the murder of Samuel Wonse, and for having taken part in the break-in at the werewolf registry.

Meant to note this last night, but the QUIDDITCH SCORES have been updated for this week.

Quick note on the Arrows/Kestrels match: The Arrows chasers pretty much were walloping them with 28 goals scored, so when Aisling O'Neill, the Kestrel's Seeker, saw the snitch, she went after it and got it. :-D

I just wanted to give a heads up and let you all know that I'm going to be pretty sparse next week. I'm going home for Thanksgiving after work on Monday where my mom has the week planned out for me, then I work some awkward shifts after the holiday so I won't be back in full force until after work on Monday. I might be around here and there for comments, but I won't be on AIM so if you need to reach me at all it would be via email.

G'day all! Kat here, bringing you Sherlock Dorian Ishmael Croaker.... but just call him Ishmael. As you may have noticed, his parents are quite the Muggle literature buffs - he was named after two of their favourite characters as well as one of his paternal grandfather's favourite characters. His parents call him Sherlock, his mother occasionally calls him Dorian (much to his annoyance) but he much prefers Ishmael. And given he wrote to Professor Dumbledore before he went to Hogwarts and asked officially known as Ishmael (Dumbledore was amused and agreed) that's how most people know him. That or just Ish. Or Croaker. Or that weird guy in the DoM. :D

He was a Ravenclaw in the class of '61 at Hogwarts and also a prefect so those who were fellow prefects as well as anyone in his House might have managed to winkle his full name out of him. (Drop me a line and we'll work it out.) He's now working as an Unspeakable, mostly in the Time Room but he does sort of cross-pollinate to other areas as well from time to time.

He is also an enormous dork and people may have seen him walking down Diagon Alley, either heading to work or home, with his nose buried in a book... and they might also have seen him walk into a pole, a wall, another person etc. And he's more than willing to do so in the future. :D

Hey everyone! Dawn here with her 7th character (again :|). Hope Dobbs is the infamous Guy Dobb's neurotic/OCD sister. She's Kenneth McKinnon's secretary which means ALL YOUR AURORS AND OTHER DMLE PEOPLE probably know her.

Egads. Where to start on her. Some of you remember my Heidi Macavoy, and if you do, then this is the younger, even more neurotic version of her. Her profile has a lot of her quirks (things that anyone who spends time around her would definitely notice) - and since there's so many of them, I didn't want to TL;DR here on it when it's there.

That said, she keeps McK on his toes - he's never late to a meeting if Hope's in the office. She remembers everyone's coffee, tea, pastry, lunch, etc preferences and they're all logged in a giant book that she keeps triple (because everything has to be in three's) warded in her desk. Those who were at Hogwarts when she was there will remember her as that weird girl who would randomly stop and play her violin, no matter WHERE she was. She went to the Royal Academy for a few quarters while mentally head-butting everyone and anyone who didn't do things HER way.

So. I realise that she's a hard character to actually make friends with, and a lot of people may not be tolerant of a person like her, but I would love to have a few people who are friendly with her, who might invite her out for pub night or something so she's not a completely loser. :-D AND OF COURSE, ALL YOU AURORS, SHE LOVES YOU AND YOUR SILLY RULES.

So.... I'm posting this early because I'm bound to forget next week.

First. Starting on Thanksgiving and until December 9 I will be on a hiatus to study for my three finals.

Second. Pretty much up until the weekend before I go back to school in January (which happens to be birthday weekend for me), I won't be on AIM itself a lot because I will be at work. However, I will be on AIM mobile and I have no problem with any of you IMing when I'm mobile or when I'm at work.

It's been really great chatting and (sorta) playing with you all. There are tons of great players and characters here. But with finals coming up, it's getting stressful, and I've had a difficult enough time trying to find my niche here. So I'm leaving the game.

Hah, kind of scary. Look, it's Isidore and MORGAN. I think her BOOB is touching him.

HI EVERYONE. Laura here with her sixth (lol again). YAY.

Cyril Warrington!!! is best known as Cecil's older brother, the heir of the Warrington family, umm... husband of Imogen Rookwood and father to Conrad the second. His mother was a Rosier (sister to Julian, Aldrich, Druella, Annalise, etc etc), so he has a lot of family in game, WHAT UP COUSINS.

Things to know:
1) His marriage is not a happy one, but they will put on a front (albeit probably cool and not always successful) in public, and are still trying to make it work for appearances' sake. Cyril himself is increasingly unhappy with this arrangement, but Cecil's the only one who would be aware of that at the moment, though that might change depending on how well Cyril gets along with people! We can probably say that Gus and Dahlia (perhaps Dee?) know that there is occasional trouble.

2) Slytherin 1970. Not a great student, more interested in making connections, was a social climber and still is.

3) Looks bored as hell at work. Charming & a willing (and good) dancer at parties and will pay ladies a great many compliments, OR he'll be withdrawn and quiet and snippy, ONE NEVER KNOWS. Always found with a glass of alcohol if it is being served (and sometimes will smuggle it in if not).

4) Likes to party with his younger cousins (LIKE EVAN) (he says he has to keep them in line) to escape the horror and monotony of his entire existence, so anyone who spends time with them is likely to know Cyril as well.

5) Not really the nicest bloke sometimes, though he tries hard, so if he hasn't said something to raise your character's eyebrow, he probably will. Most of #3 and #5 can probably be explained away by "still grieving for his beloved father." ;)

6) He is a v v v fancy dresser.

That's about all I've got. I don't think he has too many friends within or outside of the society circles, and if so, he'll still keep them all at an arm's length because the man is deeply paranoid that he's going to lose the rest of what he owns. There are very few people who he actually trusts. Just one, actually. Hi, bro. AND his bio is HERE!

YOHAI! This is Khushi and Dahlia Vivian Rookwood! Augustus' youngest sister, the only unwed Rookie left. :D

Well, more like D: because she's 28 (born in April '51) and she should have married by now but her brother holds such HIGH STANDARDS for who she should get married to, and there's always SOMETHING that's just not right.

She was in Ravenclaw, like her brother, and was the Prefect and Head Girl. Your character may remember her as the girl who always went for the best of the best and never settled for anything less. She also knew how to play the cello. And would likely claw your eyes out if you tried to touch it. Yup. She was also a bit intolerant to stupidity. That was Hogwarts, though. Now, she is ever so ~charming~ you wouldn't ever think of her as a DE supporter, part of wizarding charity groups, treasurer of the Ladies' League. But she still plays her cello, and probably would if asked to at societal parties. :D

Hi all! It's Kaitlin here with my third character, the lovely Marissa Avery! Wife of Xavier Avery, Marissa has been incognito the last view months recovering from the deaths of her children. She's still very much grieving and totally devastated, though less so than she would be if she knew of Xavier's involvement!

Even though she's a Jugson, she's a half-blood and caused a bit of a scandal when she married Xavier, who was already in an arrangement with another pure lady. She's tried very hard to be a good wife though, and to move in society, but isn't really a social climber. She's straight-forward, practical, and brooks no bullshit from anyone (least of all her husband). Her full bio is here.

Dawn pointed out that we don't have a Hogsmeade weekend on the calendar, and since there's so many characters who live in the Hogsmeade area, they'd know when they suddenly have a bunch of teenagers descending on their town.

Secondly: Chantal has contributed to our ever-growing supply of Information with a doc (that is now linked in the above-linked various info post) about the training programme for Magical Veterinarians.

Thirdly: We are now linking to plot documents in the various info post. You can't view or edit any of the information on those docs unless you have access; if you have a character in one (or more) of the groups, comment to the various info post and we'll get you added.

Fourthly: Speaking of plot documents, if you create any more, please invite at least the mod journal to them, and we'll get them added to the list, as well.

Fifthly: As yet another reminder, please chat with the mommy mod beforehand if you're going to be doing anything that might out a character as an Order member or a DE (even if it's your own character). It's not like I'm going to say no, you can't! I just need to know these things ahead of time so that the game keeps running smoothly.

Here's the deal with all that:
1. Some of those places exist in canon. They are as they are in canon.

2. Some of those places exist in the real world. They exist as they are in the real world, but there's also more to them. Basically, the position we're taking is that lots of the places we think of as mythical are in fact (like werewolves and vampires and magic itself) real to the magical world. To find out anything about game canon regarding these places, feel free to bug me. Some things about these places will be more common knowledge than others, and your character may or may not need to speak with Remus and/or Caoimhe about what they're getting into and how to get there.

3. Some of those places are neither real nor existing in canon. I made them up. Feel free to ask me about them. Again, some things about these places will be more common knowledge than others, and your character may or may not need to speak with Remus and/or Caoimhe about what they're getting into and how to get there.
