It was a bright and sunny Saturday morning on Mysteria Walk. In a house located on a cliff overlooking the bay, one of the three resident bachelors was slowly waking. Now, these three bachelors had been longtime friends and business parters. They knew each other very well, and had their Saturday routine down to an art. It was Remus who always woke first to start the coffee, feed the animals and get the newspaper. Severus would awake just shortly after to start breakfast. Sirius was the last one to wake, who would then take the dog for a walk before they would all shower and start their various Saturday morning chores.

But this morning's routine was about to be thrown slightly out of whack...

Remus groaned as the sun from the open window leeched into his eyes. He sat up slowly, scratching an itch on his naked chest and ran his hands thru his hair. Blinking in the morning light, he stumbling out of bed and headed for the bathroom, tripping over clothes along the way. He made a mental note to check laundry soap levels. After taking care of business, he headed downstairs to start the coffee maker and set out bowls of food for Orion, their black lab, and Osiris, their Egyptian Siamese cat. Yawning and groggy, Remus headed for the front door, not quite awake, to get the morning paper. But it wasn't the morning paper he saw.

"Severus, Sirius! Come quick!" he shouted, completely wide awake.

Severus was just exiting the bathroom when he heard Remus shout. Dropping the towel he'd been using to dry his hair, he headed for the stairs, pausing long enough to pound on Sirius's closed bedroom door, "Sirius, get up! Remus set the house on fire again!"

He took the stairs two at a time, already picturing the call to 911 – Remus tried to cook at least once a month, and they knew all the firefighters by name. Sirius was right behind him and rammed into Severus when the man suddenly paused.

"Dammit Sev, a little warning next time!" Sirius grumbled. Severus didn't say a word, which was a first for him. "What's wrong?" Sirius wondered, looking to see what he was staring at. Remus was standing in the open front door, staring down at the front step. The two other men moved to see what had Remus frozen in the door. A soft cooing sound drew their eyes downward and both men's eyes widen in shock.

"Why is there a baby on our front porch?" Sirius asked.
