Who: Rogue and Lucien
What: Stretching out her legs
When: Now
Where: Outside of the Prison
Warnings: Zombies, but nothing too gory, I think
With things seemingly calmed down, Rogue had started wanting to spend time outside of the prison whenever she could manage it. While she didn't want to go back to being on her own, traveling from one makeshift campsite to another, she did miss the open road and being able to walk around wherever she wanted without having to check in first with anyone beforehand. If she had been able to take care of herself for nearly two years, then she was definitely able to handle taking a stroll out of the prison on her own for an hour or so. No one would probably notice if she made it a quick trip, especially since she just finished her sentry shift and no one was waiting on her.
She signed herself out and used Bobby's name as someone that was going to meet her outside, there was little chance he'd suddenly appear now, and strolled out without a second thought. There was a sense of relief as soon as she was outside of the prison's walls and she headed for the path she'd walked with Isaac only a couple days ago. The sun was low in the sky but it'd be a while yet before it completely set. She pulled her coat tighter around her as a chilly breeze kicked up but didn't mind the cold. It was at these temperatures that her normal wardrobe came in handy, her gloves and scarf keeping her suitably warm.
Rogue slowly walked along the path, enjoying the silence around her. It was as uneventful as she'd thought it would be, so, of course, just a couple minutes later she heard something moving to her right. Her hand automatically reached for the gun on her hip, a well practiced move by now, and she aimed in the area the sound came from. The bushes shook as something made its way through it and the rotting stench of the zombie hit her before the damn thing came into view. She had forgotten how disgusting the things were up close when she'd spent a month shooting at them from a tower during her shifts. At the very least, the close proximity made aiming a hell of a lot easier as Rogue pulled back the trigger three times before the zombie collapsed only a few feet away.
Totally easy. Well that first one was easy, the others that apparently were walking with it, not so much. "Son of a bitch!" She turned on her heel and ran.
