She had learned quickly after the virus had broken out that running was always the best option when it came to a group of zombies. Bullets were well and fine for protection but she wasn't quite at the level where she was secure enough in her shooting ability to simply stand there and know that she'd be able to pick off every single one of them before they came within biting distance. She could fall back on her touch but she'd never actually tried it on a zombie before and she wasn't eager to try it now on a group of them while alone. Maybe the buddy system had some merit after all. Not that she'd actually admit it out loud.
She didn't bother to glance back to see if they were still following, their strong smell was enough to tip her off along with the faint groaning that wasn't far back enough for comfort. If she took the curve and veered off the trail, there was a chance she could loop back and make it to the prison gate without them. That was the plan until she saw someone walking toward her. Rogue skidded to a stop and she cursed under her breath as her hand instinctively went for her gun. "Not a zombie, thank god, and yeah, I would say that."
She breathed heavily as she turned back to glance behind her. Yep, the damn things were still coming. "Not to be rude but we should probably save the chitchat for later and run."
