Several days had passed since the incident with the demons, and Leslie was still pumped from the entire experience. Never in her life, never in Pawnee, would she have had to take a bat to a literal monster's head and bash it in. Hell, not even the Reasonabilists could have predicted such an ending for their yearly "end of the world" parties. It was scary, tragic (so much monster guts and blood in the streets for days!), and exciting! Leslie had never felt so alive, and she was a hero! The scar on her hand had proven to be the key to closing one of the many rifts in the town. Sure, she only closed one, but one was all she needed to close to feel empowered. Before Leslie knew she could handle anything that was thrown at her; now, she had an urge to go out and find things just to see if she could handle it.
She was seated in one of the recliners in their tiny apartment - that reminded her that she needed to look into getting a bigger place - staring at Ben. Ah, Ben. She could stare at that goofy looking face all day and not get tired of it. This whole thing must have been like something out of one of his shows, and all-in-all he handled it like a trooper. He did, after all, help save her life out there with the demons. She smiled at him, and opened her mouth to say something, but closed it quickly.
This was going to take finesse what she meant to propose to him. She wanted to go out into the town and find more adventure and danger! She wanted to march straight to Town Hall and open up each and every door until she found the Mayor and had a face-to-face talk with him. She wanted to take a chance on the paw print pasta at the diner! Leslie was excited and motivated even more to get things done in the town, and now she just had to convince her future husband that it was a good idea.
"Ben," she finally started to say, drawing out his name as she did. She rose from her chair and moved to sit next to him. "Do you think that maybe, we could, you know..." She turned her body to face him, and then smiled brightly. "Let's go out and find more demons to kill!"
